Troop E

Still, I have it on whenever I'm in the car (sometimes for hours straight) and I've never heard anything on it.

Troop E is the only one on the system in that part of the world and radio traffic is pretty light in general

Also remember if there is no user affiliated to the site you are listening to, the will be no radio traffic. I have seen this in southwest nebraska with traffic only on McCook tower and not Hayes tower.

Well I added every tower in my area to the scanner bank download and there were 5 talkgroups associated to NSP Troop E to one scanning bank. In the next scanning bank I added all NSP groups.

I'm wondering if I have something not set right in the bandplan like not having multi tables clicked or something like that. I'm using ARC96's free demo. Like I said, all I did was import the list from here so I'm not sure if there was something else that had to be done.

Nemaha Co. Sheriff info?

Hello,

Does anyone know what happened to the Nemaha Co. Sheriffs radio traffic or where I could find out?
It's been dead on their regular freqs since about Feb. I'm guessing they have gone digital but the database here has not been updated. I'm not used to Digital systems or trunking systems for that matter so detailed help is what i'm looking for. I'm learning this stuff on the fly. Is it possible they have joined the NIRN system? Any info and freqs / Pl tones would be of great help Thanks!

There was an article in a local paper earlier this year that said Nemaha county was going to join the state trunking system. Program the sites around Nemaha county and search for talk groups that start with 544xx. Sheriff talk group probably is 54400.

Thanks for the info!

Using that, I am receiving some Nemaha Co. traffic on talk group 5440 from the Stirling tower. However it does not seem to be nearly enough to be all of the sheriffs office traffic. I noticed that the Stirling tower does not cover Auburn (county seat) itself or much east of it. so Im guessing there are more towers covering the county and more talk groups possibly?
I know they've got a big tower right over the Sheriffs office and another north of town on hwy leading to Peru that they been working on. Thoughts???

I apologize if my thinking or terminology is off. Like I said, I'm just getting into this.

Hello, everyone!

TGID 54400 is definitely Nemaha County Sheriff - I've been listening to them quite a bit over the last few days on the Nebraska City tower.

Like the observations reported on the Stering tower above, I may not be hearing all of the NCSO traffic on the Neb City tower, as it all depends on which mobile / portable units are affiliated with that tower as to what one hears on any particular TGID.

Info has been submitted to the DB Admin.

Thanks for sharing! There is a lot of good info in that link.

It seems like Paraclete is not really being used. This was touted back in 2009 the solution to interoperability in Nebraska. Mission Critical Communications even did an interview with NEMA hyping it up. Q&A: Interoperability in Nebraska

Anyone know why Lancaster Co is listed as "SRS ROC Console, not monitored"? Does the county not want to play nice with NSP?

Does anybody know if these sites are both busy for Troop A? I know Omaha (108th & I St) is pretty busy but haven't gotten around to programming Omaha (Hummel Park).

- Omaha (108th & I St)
- Omaha (Hummel Park)

Can you tell me if I can just add the Hummel Park freqs. (5 of them) to my Troop A omaha freqs. to
be able to monitor the Hummel site also? This would all be under Troop A Omaha site - would
that work???
Sorry just can not get a hand on all of this....
Thank you for any help

You can't mix frequencies from different sites. The scanner will stop on the first control channel it hears. You will only hear stuff from that site and won't receive the other site.
Depending on the scanner model you will have to add a new system or new site to an existing system.

you just need to create a new site for the Hummel Park site. You only need the control channels.

Just got back to seeing replies and it looks like drake2b is being taken care of. Is Hummel Park a simulcast site with the other Omaha tower depending on if any radios are connected to it?

If you have the 436 and 536, you do not need to create anything special. Just remember to use sentinel to update the RRDB and then WRITE to the radio. You need to do both, in that order, to receive the updated information. Just updating the database only updates the software, not the scanner.

Based on GPS ranges that are in the database, the scanner will scan every site in your range, based on their range. In theory, you should be in range of at least three sites (or more) in the Omaha area.

This will also depend on what you have your scanner setup for its listening range. Remember, everything is done in a circle/radius by default.

Having traveled across NE at least three times in the past month, I can tell you it works well with a 536 using a static location and via the GPS receiver.

Unless you have a valid ID on the system, it will not track. You'll have to use a scanner.
