Hi at all,
I have now tried Openear 1.7.0 on two PCs (one with WIN 7 in the final version, one with Win 10 incl. all updates) on neither PC is it possible to start Openear.
It seems that MSVCR.dll files are always missing. First it was the MSVCR100.dll, after I installed it Openear did not start again, now it seems that the
MSVCR120.dll is missing. So I downloaded and installed the latest Microsoft Visual C++, unfortunately without success. Does anyone have a tip how to get
Openear installed (or started)? Would be really great.

Best thanks and 73, Mike

Hello Dave,
I have a 64bit system and have also used the Openear version for 64bit, unfortunately with errors as stated above. Alternatively I tried (out of desperation) the 32bis version, unfortunately also unsuccessful.

Has your pc been rebooted since installation of both version? I don't use open ear but needed Microsoft Visual C++ for something else. I don't remember it telling me to reboot, and I had issues, but after a reboot it worked for me.

@dave3825 : The program does not start at all.

I have now completely rebuilt the system (Windows 10, 64bit) and installed all the latest updates (incl. Visual C++) and tried to install Openear on the now fresh system .... it just does not work. Various MSVCR files are missing again. I am currently at a loss, do I have a faulty version of Openear?

No knowledge of OpenEar, but try putting the MSVC* DLLs in the same directory as the program. They need to be the correct version DLLs, which may be older than the latest ones (i.e., if it wants msvcr100.dll, you need the 2010 redistributable package). Older downloads are here.

I have now installed the missing files one by one and the software starts now.
Unfortunately OpenEar can not (yet) work together with the Airspy mini .... too bad.

So I tried this but it does not see my Airspy either. I dropped the Airspy dll in the directory and it wont connect. I also renamed it to rtlsdr.dll and that did nothing either.

I did not see Airspy listed on OpenEar site. Does anyone know if this program actually works with an Airspy?

Your not missing much. It’s nothing more than inciting you to use the “free” version, in the hope you pay imaginary prices (changes almost daily) upto $10,000, for the private version.
It’s a scam. Payment only in Bitcoin blah blah blah.
IMO, the free version is absolutely 💩. Try, if you haven’t already, using FMP24 with DSDPlus Fastlane. You’ll never look back. 👍

Thank you for pointing this out Iscottybotty,
it is always difficult for me to see if such software will work with the Airspy Mini.
Furthermore, a manual in English language often presents me with various problems.
I will see what I do, SDR# also offers dieverse plug-ins.
