I'll submit to the DB but here's a heads up: Fort Dix has installed a new 380 mhz P-25 system for their ranges. The 400 mhz analog system is removed. The freqs are: 388.0875 (CC), 389.0625, 389.175, 389.3375, 389.575, 389.95. TG's are in the 40xx and 41xx series. This will eventually be tied into the Lakehurst 380 site and the McGuire 380 site (not yet constructed) to create a 3 site Smart Zone system for the Joint Base.

Cool...thanks for the info. I can't copy the Lakehurst site from my location, perhaps I'll be able to tinker with this one.

I am getting about S-5 signal with antenna pointed NW. Should improve a few points if I point NE.

Also getting a signal from the CC here in Florence. Just curious, what kind of traffic is usually on the range system? (Didn't have the 400 mhz system programmed in)

See if you can get the NAC. It's helpful to have, when searching and you find the Voice Channels, but not the CC, when attempting to ID Thanks

You'll hear range control talking to the ranges for opening and closing, range maintenance activities, some training activities such as convoys. They are currently using the McGuire trunk system on TGs 1840, 1872, & 1904. Users should be on there within a week, awaiting some consolette installations.

The range site which had 406.3625, 407.475, 410.5625, & 410.7625 has been removed. Also in your military guide you had some 78th Div conventional 400 repeaters listed, they have been removed. The site on McGuire is still there, it probably won't be replaced by a 380 system for 2 years.

Sysid: 14C is commonplace with the U.S. Dept. of Defense's new P25 trunking systems. Looks like they have been adding a lot of new sites on the East Coast lately. However, without looking it up in the database, this maybe the first one in New Jersey.

Forgive this stupid question, but it has been a while since I had to program my PRO 2096. I noticed the steps on the 2096 do not correspond to these new systems, and it does NOT pick up the CC on the next closest freq. Can Win 96 do this?

A more fundamental issue is that the Pro-96/2096 is unable to trunk 380MHz P25 systems. It rejects any base frequency in the UHF band below 406MHz. Win96 appears to accept it but when you upload to the scanner it gets lost.

To answer your actual question, in case you're looking to scan it conventionally, Win96 can unlock that frequency range however it does not change or override the radio's channel steps. 386.1625 typed into Win96 automatically gets rounded to 386.1650. I would have guessed that 2.5kHz off is close enough but you note that wasn't your experience. I'm not within range of the system to try it myself.
