Wow - great info in that link - thanks. That explains a lot. I hope something is done about it.

At the end of the day, no matter the manufacturer, this is such an important issue that if it isn't dealt with, many will do what I have observed at some of the commercial sites I visit - they all fall back to the analog system because the user fatigue is just too much, and digital leaves them unimpressed.

Some of the local guys have installed MARS' fix in their radios. It really helps!

As have I, and it sounds much much better. Hopefully Motorola is taking notes....

I had a CS700 for about a year, and it was a decent little radio. I had the battery fail and the display fail (at separate times) and both were replaced promptly without question. However I grew tired of the promises of bug fixes and new features that never (and still haven't) appeared, so I sold it. Great starter radio? Absolutely. But it doesn't stack up against my XPR 6550 or Hytera PD782 (and really, it shouldn't... completely different price points).

These new DMR radios are both portable and affordable a winning combination in my view as well as the view of virtually all HAM users who are seeking to migrate from the static filled analog bands.

I'd like for someone to tell me why this radio is better than a CS700/CS750. What features does it have that the CS700/CS750 is missing?

Apparently its exactly the same. That said, I dont have one myself. I cancelled my order when i found out it was identical to the CS700.

Recently heard form the distributor, the US release of the Anytone_AT-D858_DMR portable radio is either on hold or delayed. Awaiting FCC Type acceptance:(.

In recent months there have been problems with improper and or mis labeling of FCC Type Acceptance with some other AnyTone portable radios and confusion between AnyTone and AnyTone Tech. Supposedly the two are different companies but are both using the same type face, logo and trade marks. Discussions on this subject can found and located elsewhere here in the forums:roll:.

Interesting your statement that you can adapt the CS-700 with a small change !!

Can you explain what it is and where I find editing to be done?
