Note: The above address is correct and not a licensing address error. The WNJM UHF TV Ch 50 tower where this site is located has the following
address:

42 Clove Road
Little Falls, Passaic County, NJ 07424

The site at most 50 to 250 ft just north of the county municipal line of Montclair / Essex and Little Falls Passaic. Which is close.
I think the point of "confusion" is that the license lists the town as Montclair, when in fact it's in Little Falls.

Happens all the time, People automatically see Montclair State University and assume Montclair Township. You'd think it were true too by how many times Montclair EMS is running MSU Calls on campus.

It's great because MSU campus is a part of 3 towns and 2 counties. It gets fun with borders lol

WQYK295 has been modified and a new site added. Looks like NJICS site will be on the tower at Montclair State in Little Falls, Passaic County.

Note confusion on license. Montclair (Essex)

MONTCLAIR, NJ PASSAIC County
Has anyone listened to this site yet? I'm curious as to what agencies have been monitored on it, particularly since it hasn't been reported as being affiliated with the West Orange Simulcast as of yet. Also, there were previous reports that the site at Garrett Mountain would be decommissioned once Little Falls was up and running. Any truth to that?

The Garrett Mountain subsite was licensed to be part of the upcoming Passaic County simulcast cell; it was never going to be totally decommissioned. The Montclair State site is a standalone site currently and is carrying traffic.

So is Garret Mountain now off the West Orange Simulcast System? There appears to be no control channel out that way now.

If you normally receive the West Orange cell from the Garret Mtn subsite, and no longer pick up 774.78125, then chances are pretty good that it's now part of a new simulcast cell along with the Montclair State University subsite. Check 770.53125 and see if you've got a signal on that control channel at the same strength you previously received Garret Mtn.

OK that makes sense, i get that, but, no longer carrying Essex County traffic?

The plan for a long time has been to move Garret Mtn off of the West Orange cell and onto a new Passaic County cell. Seems that it's finally happening. Ramapo should also be moving to that new cell at some point.

The cell will carry whatever traffic it needs to based on affiliation.

This shouldn't be taken as gospel, but based on some signal strength checks I just did, it seems likely that Garret Mtn is now with Montclair State University as Site 17. Site 22 Ramapo is still on the air as standalone for now, and I have no clue what the status of the Echo Lake subsite is.

We could use some boots on the ground to verify the status of these changes.
