Are Southwest Florida International Airport Fire and PD planning on switching over to the new P25 system?

Not at this time. No money in the Budget this year. But they are looking into it. They are not part of the County Budget, There’s comes from the Airlines. Hope this helps.

All of Lake County has gone to encrypted in 2010. Sucks big time for sure. This encludes the fire depts. The new system came to around 32-million big ones. But get this..someone over looked the fine print on the contract. The cost to maintain this system cost some 1.5-million. Talk about the cover up on this item.Lot's of finger pointing but no names came to light. The County Commissioners do not want to talk about this issue.
One idea to cover the cost was to take more money off the top of the traffic tickets that the towns and cities issue. Well that did not set to well with the smaller towns. The next one was to cut back the hours of some 40 low wage employes. They still came up short $500,000 the last I heard.

Actually that would be wrong. Fire/Rescue and EMS is in the clear.

trooper890...Yes that is true. We still can get EMS/Lake Fire. We no longer get the City of Leesburg Fire or the other towns and cities here in Lake County. No Police or LCS. We still get Sumter next door.

I'm in Lehigh Acres also, and haven't heard a thing on any of the trunked channels at all.

Last time I was down there, SO North was on the same Lee P25 system (the one that this thread is about) that Cape Coral has been using. I'd imagine that that's where they're at.

Lee County is still Motorola Smartnet Type II analog but they rebanded this week. Change your control channel frequencies down 15 Mhz and then change the trunking table(s) to rebanded. All be be well again. Only Cape Coral is digital P25. I should add... all the talk groups look to have remained the same.

icefireguy... Not sure what type scanner you have or what software you use to program it. Here's how you do the PRO 106 or 197. First... go to the Radio Shack web site and install the lastest firmware updates. Next... use your software... I use WIN500 to lower the control channels 15 Mhz each. Then use the software to change the trunking table to "rebanded". Next change the trunking table from default to custom. I've attached 2 pics. I program the WINK TV newsroom scanners and did them all tonight and they are all working fine again. As a last note... you must have to have a scanner capable of being rebanded.

I started a new thread about the Lee County rebanding issues. This thread is really just for the Cape Coral new P25 digital system.

As of today... it looks like ALL Cape Coral police comms are digital encripted. I'm still hearing the Cape Coral fire and EMS as digital P25... but NOT encrypted.

Updateing,

WoW, its been along time since I'd visited this post, but I know Lee County OS Dispatch North and East are running on the P25 System now. But Central, West, and South Lee OS are still on Mot type II analog; they are not encrypted. I wounder when Lee County OS is going to follow in Cape Coral foot steps by Encrypting the voice communications? Ooo also forgot Fort Myers are still on Mot type II Analog.
Now this is my opinion, but all voice communications should be available for the general pubic, not in secrecy for example Hitlers Gestapo. Now to some communications I can understand; Further-Note, where in the hell did the money come from to build the three story Cape police department. Yes the department need a new build, but gesss it bigger then the Baltimore City building. And I'm shore in many case's in other city's like Boston, New Jersey, etc...

Are you referring to Lee County Sheriff? I'll be going down there in May, can you give me any more updated information? What talkgroups is the sheriff using on P25?

9136 45776 45872 45808 46576 46128 4656 45904 33968 46800 4624 4976 53520 42608 7088 46256 400 18896 22288 46736 112 8688 12656 8656 60432 45840 46544 46928 55504 9424 7792 46160 7216 60400 46032 7888 46832 16 46896 7184 7824 8496 47120 46096 46480 46416 5072 53552 4688 47216 7152 7248 46192 7856
