No, it's Uniden doesn't display the NAC properly on a Phase II voice channel. It displays it properly on the CC since it's FDMA.

Ahhh haaa...so the new firmware allows you to not only see the Control Channel NAC, but the Voice Channel NAC on Phase 2 systems or you said that's been around awhile? However, another system I can monitor, the Voice Channel NAC doesn't display

You have that system programmed differently then.

I do have the NAC of 871 set normally, but when I decided to investigate, and changed it to Ignore Site NAC, that was displayed. Thinking here...I wonder if we were allowed to program the Voice Channel NAC's (similar to MotoTRBO and NXDN Trunking systems), maybe it would solve the Phase 2 decoding issues many have reported? Is the Voice Channel NAC's seen on DSD+ when decoding a Phase 2 system?

A site NAC is site-wide. You can't have different NAC's on a VC. The issue is Uniden doesn't properly display the NAC on a Phase II VC.

Trust me on this.

I understand what you're saying here. I'm curious as to what I'm seeing and why the decode has improved since the firmware update. I know it's not mentioned in the release notes, except that "housekeeping" term was used before and some have experienced improvements that weren't documented. You've mentioned that Uniden doesn't display the NAC properly on Voice channels on a Phase 2 system. I understand about the Control Channel NAC and how it relates to Voice Channel assignments. The displayed NAC's made me wonder.

Don’t know what to say as mine has always showed that.

Didn't we talk about this with Upman three years ago? This sounds like the same bug.

Absolutely.

Anyway, I'm done. Uniden doesn't properly display the NAC on a P25 Phase Ii VC.

Hey Joe - The Sentinel v 2.03 is a ZIP file. Download the zip file to your pc and then expand it.
The run the install.exe file This will over write the old Sentinel and replace it with the
newest version 2.03 rev 00

As to what got changed ..........(I hope this copy and paste works)......
SDS200 Firmware Update Change Log
All firmware updates are done using Sentinel.

Before applying updates, you should back up your programming. Always use the latest version of Sentinel to update.

This firmware applies the following enhancements and bug fixes:
  • Added 2.5 kHz and 3.125 kHz steps to the Custom Search and Discovery mode.

  • (latest version of Sentinel (2.03) required to use these features)
TY.. for the information

I just did a reboot and tried to update the firmware on my SDS100 again and it said again that my firmware is the current. I am on firmware 1.10.00.

I updated Sentinel prior to the first time I tried several hours ago to update the SDS100, so it must be something about the SDS100 since the folks that are updating are doing it on SDS200s.

Reinstall Sentinel and reset your SDS100 to factory settings. I did this and my unit updated

I previously reported an improvement on a P25/Phase 2 800mhz. system I regularly monitor since the firmware release and decided to do some digging. Ignore Site NAC and watched as transmissions were occurring. When the system is monitoring the control channels (I have 2 sites set up), the NAC would flash 871h/872h as normal. When their is an active transmission the NAC will convert from P25 NAC 871h/872h to NAC 871h/872h A1Ch no difference which Slot the transmission is occurring on. I know the "h" is the hex format, but have never seen this displayed before. I don't normally have it set to Ignore Set NAC, but the curiosity got the best of me. Anyone else see this before, or has it been around and I'm just late to the show?

Mine is doing this also after the firmware update

Yes, and the update for Sentinel is required to use the new freq. steps.

This may/or may not be the same firmware updates reported over in Europe.

My surprise was it's dated 6-29-22 but @JoeBearcat hasn't posted here in the firmware thread. Of course, there was a holiday and it's vacation season, and pretty much nobody works 24/7.😊

There are several new firmware versions out this week. The Uniden website is currently up to date on the changes and latest firmware.

The SDS100 firmware was delayed by a few hours due to a typo.
