New Stereo Feed Icon

I'm curious of people's thoughts of possibly implementing a stereo feed icon (similar to the alpha tags icon) to distinguish mono feeds from stereo feeds. Sure, providers describe feeds as stereo in their description (or they should) but I think a small icon beside the feed name would be ideal. This option could be a simple checkbox placed in the feed options below Anonymous Feed and Broadcasting Alpha Tags.

Don't mind my obviously horrible picture. It's just to give the idea.

Also, the possibility of creating a special pop up when you hover over the icon, saying that it is a stereo feed but also briefly describing what is broadcast on each side. IE: Left = Fire | Right = Police

The provider could input this information into a small text box similar to the Information Web Link, and limit it to a set amount of characters.

Not a bad idea but this will just give feed providers another way to falsely promote their feed. It would be nice if there was some way to prevent feed providers from displaying the "Broadcasting Alpha Tags" icon when they actually do not display alpha tags.

I see this quite a lot. Maybe some way for the server or another part of the system to detect whether or not it is actually receiving metadata.

Also a uniform description of the feed details at the top of the feed details page describing the feed the same way in every feed. Some people do not enter anything here.

Good idea...I gave up my stereo feed because the iphone version didn't have a balance control like the android version. Too confusing without it.

This has been proposed before & Lindsay said no. He did not want more icons etc.
