Release notes for TRX-1 and TRX-2 were missing that item:
•Add digital mode filtering to Limit Search (and Tune)

How about adding an Access Control column to show NAC alongside the other useful information in the Audio Index List?

The tune mode is awesome, thank you. Is it a possibility to be able to decode control channel data this way in the future? It really helps when confirming new sites/systems.

Unsure what I've done to the TRX radios, but now frequency entry is Bizarro World.

When I type in 452.700, 452.700625 is what appears in the EZ-Scan window. If I type in 452.7, same thing. If I type it all out (452.7000000), it STILL changes to 700625. Every frequency does this. I haven't changed anything...

Weird. Double check and email exactly what you did and what went wrong including relevant version number(s) to:

All hosed down now?

Yup the fire has been put out and hosed down. Sometimes these issues with the EZ-SCAN software and the firmware updates can cause issues. But the good thing is that there is a firmware updater you can use in case you get in a jam which I did unfortunately.

Looks like Whistler has in place where you can use tools from their website in case you brick your radio.

The radios are not bricked. It's just a situation when it doesn't have firmware code that is complete. It knows to be ready to receive an update attempt. The method for Whistler firmware is a nightmare. There are all sorts of computer magic tricks--oftentimes requiring a different computer--that might make it work, but at the end of the day, this absolutely is a problem with the Whistler product. I do hope that they will decide to face up to it and resolve the firmware processing going forward. It is 2017, after all. For example, when was the last time you noticed your phone or tablet doing a firmware update?

Regarding the frequency entry, that appears to be a problem with their new bandplan. I would not fret it, the bandwidth of the filter is pretty wide; I doubt 625 hertz will kill your reception.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread. It would be nice to have a copy of the bandplan as programmed. It would also be nice if the scanner and EZ Scan offered feedback regarding illegal frequency entry.

That happened to me a while back. I ended up deleting the saved info and went back to an old file I had and it reset.

Probably never. Conservation of keystrokes.

The existing, 10-year-old method (inherited from the PSR-500) takes exactly 2 keystrokes to enter any letter, number, or symbol. (Toggling between upper and lowercase or between the two symbol sets is another keystroke (the Fn key)).

Your description above does not include lowercase. Would the sequence be like my stupid Panasonic cordless phone: A-B-C-a-b-c-2 ? Five keystrokes to enter 'b'? Then, to move to the next character position, I hit an arrow key, wait for a timeout, or start using a different key?

For example, if I want to enter "DGLS SO CH A", and presuming the . (decimal) key enters a space:

Your method would be 25 keystrokes (1-4 for each letter, 1 for each space):
345557777.7777666.22244.2

On the TRX, it's 21 keystrokes (2 for each letter, 1 for each space):
31745374.7463.2342.21

no,how about Fn for lower case ,it could be done.........Fn then number only for lower case

Perhaps Whistler has to be sure they aren't patent infringing on Uniden, etc. with all the various requests...

Since it's looking increasingly unlikely that Uniden will ever offer an NXDN upgrade to their current line of scanners, there's no problem with upgrading NXDN to display alias tags.

Fixed by turning off Flexstep.

Fixed by turning off Flexstep.

FlexStep has become a little tricky for us in Alaska now because we need it enabled to enter the proper step size in the ALMR system but have that problem you brought up when enabled for the UHF band.

I wonder if it's possible, as a feature request to Whistler, that we be able to enable FlexStep either by band or by system or something other than radio wide.

Hello,

The Tune mode looks similar to the PSR-500/600 tune mode. I have not tried everything yet. It does appear that only conventional formats are decoded using CCDump. I also noticed the NXDN dump does not give the frequency.
