Seems like Federal protective services has gone fully coded now on their 408.200 repeater (nac 290). the encryption was used very infrequently in the past but now seems to be in use full time pretty much.
National Park Police testing new channels today 6/13
169.7500 p25 Nac225 Sandy Hook units in clear and encrypted mode
169.8250 p25 Nac225 NY units in clear and encrypted mode
I'll be checking out the Liberty Island freq. list once they start re-opening the Island around July 4 this year to verify what freq's are in use, etc. You haven't heard much since Liberty and Ellis Islands are closed for the most part until then (due to damage from Hurricane Sandy). There is limited activity on the US Park Police channel still in analog mode. And I'll plug in the other freq. listed above to see if I hear anything on it.![]()
Picked up activity on 171.200 Nac 40B in the Union/Middlesex Co. area. Only heard it a few times, a guy saying radio check 1-2-3. Signal was full strength. Could be something out of nyc I imagine also.
The only stuff I find on this frequency is a Dept of Energy use but not in our area.
Plug this one in your scan list. I am pretty sure on the nac, but always best to program in search mode.
The frequency (171.200 MHz) and NAC ($40B) is correct. It was a DOE facility. It is in use in the NYC/NJ/CT metro area. It is used infrequently.
been picking up digital activity on this freq in encrypted mode this week. It has been transmitting nac $373. any ideas?
Been picking up 169.650 $4F9 lately, anyone else hearing this? by nac it points to national park service, just havent figured out where.
