Confirmed TG 4795 Bloomfield Fire Dispatch
Bloomfied PD & FD transitioning to NJICS
Bloomfield Police and Fire were testing and now have started the transition to NJICS. Hearing FD Dispatch to jobs on FD TG 4795, Police still split between their UHF Ch and PD TG 4789 on NJICS.
Other departments may be also switching soon.
Looking for possible an EMS and or DPW TGs on NJICS?

Rumor has it Livingston Police will be moving, the info they have says NJICS encrypted. I have no other info at this time but will try to keep my ears to the ground on this one.
I am not sure why they are considering encryption, other than someone saying "it was sold to them" *UGH*.
I have not heard anything about Fire or EMS, looks likely they just stay on the VHF.

Encryption part is the part that bugs me. I guess it is simply to stop us from listening.

It's about some municipal Police Department views that the public should be totally unaware of any Communications whatsoever which is a very dangerous and unwarranted trend. I fully support Tac channels with full encryption...only....

Just put in Bloomfield FD and it is indeed active.
I don’t want to throw this off topic but I remember the days when departments started to go to NJICS and numerous people here on the boards were like “Digital is terrible” “Everyone is going encrypted” “Why does my small town need to be on this big statewide system.” And now we hear “that’s great news” “can’t wait” etc. Oh how the times have changed once the ear gets tuned.

Well what changed for me is I have a G4 and a G5. Unfortunately NONE of my Uniden products were and are capable of dealing with the LSM issues that NJICS holds dearly.
So yeah… Times have changed. I can now listen to my own town within my own towns boarders. Thank you Unication.

Are you saying the SDS100 does not handle the NJICS well? I was thinking of getting one soon.

I do not have an SDS100. I know there are some here that do and can answer that. I have personally lost a lot of faith in Uniden.
I am very happy with my Unication G4/G5's. As of now, I see no reason for to get a SDS100... I'm thinking about the new Whistler base model when that arrives next year. Supposedly it will handle NJICS and the LSM issues that I experience here. Unsure.
My 536 is dead silent on NJICS. I guess it's not meant to receive that. Shakes head.
I got my 536 from Uniden Factory Store.
I'd recommend you get the SDS100 from them as they offer a 30 day return.

Hearing Bloomfield PD and Fire constantly. Thinking they made the switch full time.
The SDS100 handles the NJICS & other systems with known LSM issues perfectly well (Middlesex & Somerset, etc).
Just my 2¢, but I'm very happy with mine.
