My sources tell me that Bloomfield is joining soon. More when I get it.

Looks like the NJICS agreement was passed at the May 21, 2018 council meeting for Bllomfield.

For the fire department's that have joined already, what are they using for fire ground operations (NFPA standards require simplex for fire ground). Are they going with the expensive dual band vhf/700 radios?

In Essex and Union Counties at least, almost no department ever uses a simplex fireground. The departments that have already joined the NJICS in Essex and Union are using either their dispatch TG, their own FG talkgroup or a County FG talkgroup.

Weird considering I haven't been able to locate any mention of the NJICS in their township committee minutes but I did find the shared services agreement between Plainsboro and Middlesex County for use of their Phase 2 system back on July 12, 2017.

Maybe some patch set up between the two systems for some reason? I recall noting some Plainsboro radios affiliating to NJ DEP talkgroups a while back.

Which agency does it sound like John? Police or Fire?

It was just Police. It looks like it stopped, at least on Hunterdon just after 12 Noon.

I heard them mention that the county system was having an issue, so maybe it is some sort of backup channel?

FWIW, I heard two transmissions on that TG around 9:30 this morning. As far as I could tell they were just keyups with one encrypted and the other in clear. Didn't catch the exact RID and for some reason the EZ-scan software only records RIDs on conventional?

However, I do recall it being one of the Bergen County Prosecutor's IDs. (Possibly the 200072 cited above).

Edit: I heard that activity off of the Ramapo site.

Yes, Bergen County talkgroup - RDT was in Rutherford for street festival today. There were RDT guys everywhere.

I was thinking the same thing!

Here's another one that's probably more obvious, yet I can't seem to figure it out. EMSTFC

Edit: Just clarifying that EMSTFC is, AFAIK unrelated to the TG at hand.

I was only there for a short time, too hot to stay long but there were guys in uniforms with RDF and RDT written on them, they were all along the route of the street fair today. kind of wondered what the difference was. there was a big Ems contingent there too with an ems task force bus which probably kept busy with people overheating. interesing bergen uses the state system but makes sense i guess in case they go outside county and their own system doesn't cover them.
