The only change I'm seeing to the SmartZone system is that the IR sites are no longer being broadcast as peers to the North cell...only the Central cell is showing up now. Unsure if the IR sites themselves are actually off the air, those will have to be verified before I clear them out of our database. 🤷‍♂️

I should point out that this thread was never intended to be the discussion about the new core for the NJICS P25 system, although it has seemed to morph into that due to some misunderstanding and misinformation. I started this thread to discuss the gradual shutdown of the NJSP SmartZone system.

For comments and discussion related to the P25 system, please use the existing NJICS thread: New Jersey Interoperability Communication System (NJ ICS)

i wasnt too sure if anything happend more other then losing a few of its chans that is all thank you
Ah okay, you were referring to the old SmartZone system, not the P25 system, gotcha. High Point is part of the north simulcast for the old system, and is still chugging along for the time being, just with less channels.

Nothing has changed with the P25 system as far as that site, but Hamburg Mtn (Site 61) should be online at some point soon-ish.

B11D (north) IR sites confirmed off the air.
I need to find out if they took the IR frequencies to be used on NJICS hence the disabling of those IR sites in general.

Soon-ish is the prime word there! Still no movement on that one. Space is there, power is sitting in the ladder rack but no equipment delivered yet.

And yet it was added to the new zone controller as a peer to 17, 26, 27, 30...go figure. 🤦‍♂️

Maybe I will take a ride up there to see if anything has changed. Maybe more crickets and some cob webs...Always a thrill going up that hill!

Sorry, Ed, I should've mentioned that while it's coming over adjacent site control channels, it's not in wide area mode. Certainly possible that it's nothing more than an entry in the zone controller at this point with nothing actually at the site yet.

True dat!. They can have it preloaded in the system but if it aint there, it will be ignored. I may make it a full day and hit up Hamburg and Mt Kipp(Glen Gardner). Mays Landing (ACCC) is almost ready. Next week I may take a ride to Port Republic (Galloway) to see how that one is coming along
