18:30 - Shoplifting suspect fled from FCPD Tysons Urban Team at high speed after possibly dragging a loss prevention officer with their car. Units pursued; after throwing a large amount of stolen clothing out of the windows, the suspects wound up in a dead end street and surrendered. 3 people were detained. Officers then retraced the pursuit to recover the dumped merchandise.

19:00 - FCPD responded to a shooting in Mt. Vernon (station 2). Suspect fired a round into the air and fled. Officers spotted the suspect a short time later and took him into custody at gunpoint. Suspect had the gun on him.

Loudoun units responding to a end unit townhouse fire on Baltusrol Terrace in the Belmont Country Club area of Ashburn. Working fire, smoke from all four sides, fire showing.

All units from Co 1 including E601 from Station 1 are on scene or responding. E601 didn't show as being upstaffed today.

A dog has been rescued.

23:37 - Reston Hospital Center - FCPD units responded to a report of a subject who had shot himself in the parking lot. Subject was DOA. Large response was initiated when the original call for shots fired at the hospital came in.

I turned off the scanner at some point but last I heard he had a gun on his lap, GSW to the head and the ER staff had pronounced him (EMS wasn't even brought to the scene), so pretty sure it was a suicide. Plus FCPD never sent out any kind of alert.

Active evening in FCPD Districts 2 and 6 (Mount Vernon and Franconia Stations). Since 6:30 there has been a robbery IAO Richmond Highway (suspect not located thus far), a missing juvenile (found), and now an (possibly) armed robbery coming out at Target in Springfield (Franconia District). 4-5 suspects robbed someone in Target with a knife implied. Shopping Center and patrol units now searching the mall.
19:43 update - Victim in the Target robbery decided not to press charges. Units still seem to be searching for the suspects.

23:18 - HOMICIDE SHOOTING W/ 2 SHOT in Fairfax County - FCPD Mason District (Station 4) on Wadsworth Court. Officers responded for a drive-by shooting to find a large crowd and one victim unresponsive and another responsive. Officers started CPR on the unresponsive vic and both were transported by FCFRD. Unresponsive victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. K9 and helo were unable to locate suspicious persons and suspect information as given by witnesses was vague and conflicting.

20:40 - Stabbing - FCPD Station 2 (Mt Vernon District) - Officers responded for a subject who had reportedly been stabbed in an apartment. Subject has a minor stab wound to the chest and there's a language barrier. Will post updates if they come.
21:03 - Update - Victim is now possibly life threatening. Officers haven't actually found the crime scene yet.

19:55 - Multiple incidents happening in Fairfax County including a vehicle pursuit in Station 2 (Mt Vernon) on Route 1. The pursuit was terminated when the car was heading towards Maryland and DC. The original call was for a man strangling a female and trying to force her in to a car. Officers have not been able to find the victim so far. A child was also mentioned by the caller and also hasn't been located. RTCC is trying to re-find the vehicle.

In station 4 (Mason), a suspect violently resisted leading to a brief all-available-units callout. Officers got the suspect in cuffs after a couple minutes.

In station 6 (Franconia), a traffic stop produced a sovereign citizen that has a couple officers tied up.

Several active fight calls, violent domestics, and suicide threats in the past hour have left some stations with no units available to respond to new calls.

LCFR is responding to the Taylorstown area for a structure fire. Working fire with fire on all sides. Said to have started with a propane tank explosion that set the porch on fire. RIT and tanker task force were dispatched but it sounds like E612B is already getting a good knock on it. All but the initial assignment is being put in service.

Officer on scene saying there wasn't an explosion, so the HAZMAT unit is not needed.

Some sort of gas grill malfunction seems to have started it.

16:40 - Franconia - A mother and daughter celebrated July 4th by going to Wendy's and physically fighting each other. By the time units arrived on scene they had left together in one car with both of their faces bleeding. Officers now trying to find them. Oddly enough, the mother called it in and none of the employees or other customers seem to have called but did confirm there was an active fight once officers spoke to them.

16:46 - Franconia - Another ABC store holdup. This is the latest in a series of robberies of ABC stores that has been happening in Fairfax County for several weeks. The robbers are using the same car they used in a robbery two days ago. FCPD and ABC Special Agents are en route.
16:52 Update - SOME SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY. Units found them in the area and pursued on foot. Units now saying this is a second crew that has hit ABC stores in the past week, including earlier today. These are local kids as opposed to the other crew that is believed to be based out of DC or MD. Two vehicles were involved in the robbery and one is still outstanding.
16:56 Update 2 - One of the suspects who was caught may have thrown a gun. K9 en route.
17:00 Update 3 - Object was not a gun, it was a bottle of alcohol. Units are bringing the detained subjects back to the scene for a showup.

12:13 - Armed Robbery - Boost Mobile on Richmond Highway. Station 2 units responded for a single suspect who robbed the store at gunpoint and left on foot and then got into a car down the street. Officers, K9, and Fairfax 2 saturated the area upon arrival but were unable to locate the possible suspect vehicle nor anyone on foot. An ambulance was called for one of the victims who was complaining of head pain.

12:31 - Felony Foot Pursuit W/ Taser - Amidst the armed robbery investigation, Auto Crimes Enforcement (ACE) Unit detectives were working an alert down the street for a vehicle wanted for a separate armed robbery. The driver of that vehicle fled on foot and detectives initiated a foot pursuit. Detectives tased the suspect and took him into custody.

13:05 Update on the armed robbery - Officers now say the witness who said the suspect got into a car was not credible, so they're back looking for a suspect on foot. K9 didn't turn anything up. Perimeter broken down at 13:00.

This incident has already been reported by media, but Metro Transit PD shot a carjacking suspect in Arlington County in Rosslyn. Sounds like inter-agency comms were terrible during this incident with MTPD dispatch sending vague and conflicting information to ACPD and not cooperating with ACPD officers when they arrived on scene.

14:25 - FCFRD responding to a structure fire in the 9500 bl. Blake Lane in Fairfax, a 3 story residential structure. Fire showing on side Alpha. RE433 first due. Full structure fire response and RIT has been dispatched.
14:30 - Fire was on an upper-floor balcony of the apartment building with an extension into one apartment. RE433 made entry and knocked it down. An occupant is being evaluated burns to the hands with all other occupants safe and accounted for.

1400 - Franconia - Station 6 officers are responding to an ADW and a robbery. ADW came out as an assault but vic is now saying he was cut in the hand with a knife. No solid suspect info. Robbery was at a convenience store. 2 Black males assaulted the clerk and emptied the cash drawer then fled the scene in a van. One threatened to shoot the clerk but didn't actually pull a weapon. K9 and FFX 1 are responding.

RIT task force has also been dispatched.

1229- A trashcan in the bathroom was on fire, no extension.

10:45 - Reston - Two suspects ran from FCPD units after a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle possibly also wanted in connection with assault charges out of Loudoun. They fled on foot towards Reston Town Center and the "Tent City" where pursuing units lost sight. 5 Bravo, multiple K9s, Fairfax 2, and a lot of patrol cars responded to search and set up a perimeter. They had no luck.
