Sure hope UPMan doesn't retire out, apparently he is the only person that can do updates / corrective action on Uniden scanners.

OFT is unusable from me. many counties here in missouri have went to conv DMR or NXDN for sheriff and fire. OFT has no decode where my other SDS sitting on the frequency will decode just fine.. Uniden will try to sell us another scanner to fix the problem I bet.

It sure seems like a lot of the times the issues were said to be a "weak signal" on the new sds scanners but yet the x36 were still decoding normally side by side. How strong does a signal have to be in order for the new sds scanners to receive and decode? And I understand that Upman has been going through some horrible health issues but shouldn't Uniden Support be taking up some of that slack? I really like my 536 but I am always thinking it would be nice to have another base/mobile in the house. But it won't be an sds with issues like these.

I've never had good luck with the OFT. I just make all DMR as conventional. I'll never understand why Whistler can make it possible to select DMR color, slot and talk group for a conventional system, but Uniden requires this OFT nonsense.

The SDS models were targeting P25 Simulcast issues. It picks up very well using the filter settings. They made a major improvement and I previously posted that prior to them being added via firmware, my 536 was dominant, now the SDS 200 is leading the pack.

My suspicion /best guess is has something to do with the default TGID 0 that NXDN OFT uses. I was 2 blocks from where the NXDN OFT system was with my SDS 100, RSSI value was -45/-50 and it was inconsistently following the conversation.

Well I can say I'm not to happy with the fact of giving all the information required to my issue and being told I should program a frequency as a trunked system that is IDAS when infact its a NXDN48 conventional channel (no trunking). Great to know I'm not being told its a weak signal problem.

I'm going to create a video of my issue soon, I just need to let a 436HP run till it has its usual hissy fit becuase it doesn't want to decode right but for now this is the clearest decode from dsd+FL connected to the same antenna.

Thought I might link my issues across into this thread to see if others are having the same issue

If its not a trunked system then program your frequencies as conventional. I've done this and had far better luck with programmed as conventional. This has been discussed many times on the forum. It may else help to put hold time as 1 or 2 seconds.

I get heaps better results as a convention system but as i said. Its a matter of UID's don't display which is something I like having as it helps when reviewing data later

I'm everywhere Focker!
This is one thing Whistler did get right and it makes no sense that Uniden can't or won't adopt programming NXDN/DMR as conventional.

But it also baffles me that Whistler can't mute P25 encryption. In the GRE days the response was it's a hardware limitation (???).

"Muting enc." should be at the desire of the user. Sometimes one will want to log TG's and UID's.

For that, I am thankful for the TRX-1.

SDS series are great for P25 simulcast, but Whistler blows them away on DMR and NXDN.

Wish there were a "perfect medium". Hopefully we will get updates and so forth again for our SDS units.

Well it's interesting that there has been fixes to the SDS models

But it will be interesting to see if they fix it for the 436 and 536 pt and hp models

When was that posted?

Haven't seen an update to the SDS series since April

It's for the European version of the sds models. Australia is Usds. But if the European version has fixes to the nxdn (specifically nxdn48), it possibly would be a similar firmware code to all other models (Well that's my 2 cents worth)

Interesting Uniden is pushing firmware reversions, to anywhere
