Has any one else been hearing Orange 911 come across their edac radios when they shouldn't?

Just curious..My work radio every once in a while we'll hear Orange 911 come through on our talkgroups when we try and transmit or when we unkey and we are going off of walker mt.

and I'm aware of the towers being linked for Orange County

That is because NYCOMCO, in their ultimate wisdom, has the same frequency (856.1125) running on both Schunnemunk and Illinois. That is ok if controllers are set correclty...now for the BUT....they don't have the controllers set to NOT send to that frequency if it is being busy on the other site.

So, even if you are on your talkgroup on Illinois, if you happen to be assigned to 856.1125 and that is the next available channel on Schunnemunk, once someone keys up...you guessed it...interference.

Is this the same problem as when a unit keys up on whatever talkgroup was last used, regardless of what the radio is set to?

For example if OC911 is polling a call, and a sheriff's unit is trying to talk on the sheriff's talkgroup, but he keys up too soon after 911 releases the key on the polling talkgroup, the deputy will come over polling, even though is radio is set to the SO talkgroup?

No. That is a completely separate issue and has nothing to with what e911 is talking about.

As Chauffeur6 pointed out, two separate issues. The SO radios are programmed to "talkback scan" vs. "selected channel talkback." Uncheck one box and check the other in the programming software, simple fix. Unfortunaely the SO guys can't do that from the radio.

Since their main channel/dispatch is their talkgroup, their radios should have been set to selected channel talkback, selected channel talkback as their priority 1 and priority 2 their talkgroup. This way they never miss a call on THEIR channel rather than one they are scanning. Just my .02...

Well I hope they plan on fixing it sometime soon..I've dropped a radio down there knowing there was nothing wrong with it but however when we called and complain they said to drop the radio of...They Change the RF Board and checked the channel guard...I don't know how they can do that if there is no channel guard on edacs..get the radio back and we keep hearing them of course..
