The leased new builds are owned by tom leased by MS, the future leased towers are sites owned by entities like.. Cellular South.... or will be built on land leased to Tom /MS owned by say.. Cellular South or private land lease lots... The only site in Hinds that is the finish up the link is the Sillers Building ant... thats an MWCC/MS DPS/City of Jackson/Hinds County site... Its an ant farm up there. Also FBI, DEA, USMS, USPS, and NOAA link..... All the rest of Hinds is P II.... The no construction were sites not built on yet lol. In addition to the repeaters on new sites, there are MW links on the existing DPS sites. And.. lol will be specail linkage infrastructure on Cellular South towers for not only the radio part of MWIN, but cellular interconnect, and part of the data network. The IP25, and other linkage will be built later for the connecting of subscribers.... They have not announced the contract bidding yet for that.... that comes after P III is in its construction phases... Any guesses who the contractors to bid for that jewel will be??? wink wink Currently three agencies are in the build out of sites.... ToM that other contractor, and Motorola.... The other company does the site prep, ToM builds the tower and with Entergy MS, and other coops etc gets the power up, and Motorola is doing the installs etc... Motorola also has a separate contract with someone for a few other details. The FEMA licenses may no longer be in but the 10 year rule is in effect on thier part of the project... You know about that rule lol.

Another question.. I noticed a lot of the Bellsouth licenses are now cancelled/terminated/expired and no new ones for the conventional.... Have they gone trunked? And if so.. anyone know where that license is???

Claiborne MSWIN site location

Any body know the proposed location for the Claiborne County site(s)? If they locate near the current MHP lo-band repeater tower in that area, they'll end up having to build another Doloroso type tower. And boy you're talking a high elevation for that sucker, it potentially could broadcast 50 miles are more from that point.

Mike has all the GPS etc data for all the sites lol And thats probably about where it will be Its also plotted on the MSWIN maps... and I think Mike added it to the google earth file he made??? I can look on that google earth one and see... Once I find it again lol...

On the Bellsouth issue, I've recently noticed some of the newer trucks in this area aren't even equipped with 2-ways.

The only P2 registrations so far (and therefore lat/lon coordinates) are the P2A ones I just mentioned above.

I've been looking at the dailys every day for new applications and nothing new has shown up yet.

Yesterday the 20104 and 20105 site registrations were updated to "constructed".

Looking at the BGA map (which leaves a lot to be desired) side by side with a real map I'd say it'll be fairly close to Port Gibson maybe.

My 996T and 396T must be deaf or something strange is going on. I am within a half mile of the Hwy 98/ Hardy Street and 59 interchange and I can get hits from Seminary, Ellisville, and Collins and yet I can't hear anything out of the Brooklyn or Lamar site.

OK so its the Lorman and Utica sites that will cover Claiborne.....And a tad of the "Hazelhurst" site oh your map doesnt include that one lol...

If Port Gibson its near to the following sites.. DPS Lo Band Rptr.... Entergy, and right over from an LWIN....

You may be overloaded.. lol Lots of 700 and 800 rf there lol.... At least four to five MWIN.. and the Forrest TRS......

OK thats both Copiah sites.... So I-55, Highway 28, Highway 51 are fully covered... and part of Highway 27 and a couple of others....From Jackson south..... Once the Lorman, Utica, and Pt Gibson ones are up... thats 61 up to Hinds anyway. And doubly on 61 once Jeanette is up.

You sure you got your names a freqs. matched up right? Collins and even Seminary would seem a pretty far stretch for even a GRE much less a "T" Uniden from that location. (yes they are quite deaf when compared to GRE.)

From there you SHOULD get Lamar (10 miles) and Rock Hill (11 m. Brooklyn?) easily, New Augusta (20 m.) maybe, and Oak Grove and Ellisville possibly. (22 m. each.) Seminary is 26 miles and Collins 32 miles. Pretty far even for a GRE's hot front end.

Also once those are up thats also the Natchez Trace covered for MHP when they run up the Trace, which they do often going from place to place, and backing up the Rangers....

The two primary "road testers" for MWIN are MHP and MDOT Enforcement..... The maintanence guys will get on after its all siad and done..

Looks like not much over my way though like you said. I'm sure a trip up towards Jackson will be in my future at some point in time, so I'll make sure I've got what I need to try and work some of those.

Wish I'd known about the one at Tylertown. I was there last weekend. I do seem to remember getting a 800 Mhz close call hit around there. I'll see if I saved it and if it matches anything.

So you're telling me that there will not be tower in the Port Gibson proper area? If that's the case, there'll be no handheld coverage in that area and that's a pretty good area for MHP since it''s completely 4-laned on 61 from Natchez to Vicksburg now. A tower at Lorman or Utica simply would not provide adequate coverage in the Grand Gulf area and north to the Warren Co. line, that's got to be mistake.
