Rock Hill

I was up in the Purvis (SW of Hattiesburg) area today and I heard on the Rock Hill (Site #1-002, Freq 769.96875) a station running communications checks with 3 Teams around 10 to 10:30 am.. They were giving grid locations and radio checks. ID was 10001.

Great news! DB updated accordingly on both counts. Many thanks for the updates Hugh and Don.

Nice to see some new activity taking place. Been kinda dull lately.

I took the liberty of extrapolating the 2 ALT CC freqs. for Jeanette. Given every other single site has followed the exact same pattern of having 2 ALT CC's spaced 0.250 MHz down from each other.

Verify those when you get a chance and let me know. :)

According to the meeting notes they are still going to strive for final acceptance by year's end. I suppose increased usage in some form will follow upon completion of that milestone.

At last LOL! All thats left is the MHP one down on the coast at the new D8 HQ. OK now that P1 is done, and MEMA is testing finally, that means its going to get full acceptance by November. Within a month of that expect State transition in P1 to begin. Watch for at least twenty new TG's to show up by March. Three minimum for MHP, At least three for F&W, MDOT, maybe F&A, and two to four interop for LWIN, HRRTRS... Now we start watching P2A.... Good job everyone! Once the sites start getting used we will get all the frequencies down, as there are freqs not in usage yet due to low traffic. Once all three phases are up the next infrastructure phase will be bid and begun... Subscription, information, and specialized data and ip25 equipment. We know of at least ten counties that will be using MWIN at least some, with maybe two going all out. The fun is just getting started! :)

Just love FEMA... they jumped to help get MWIN started, and it was thier baby till it got rolling.. Now they want to cause issues that they NEVER mentioned at all when this first started. Is it just me or is it time to have a closer look at how FEMA is run? Or maybe FEMA is BROKE and is using this type of thing to hide that fact?

Change of ownership for phase 1 ToM towers on 11/19/09. All towers previously owned by Towers of Mississippi are now owned by:

Florida Tower Partners, LLC dba Dixie Towers
1001 3rd Avenue W, Suite 420
Bradenton , FL 34205
FCC Licensee ID: L01404749

Phase 2 ToM towers are now starting to be registered (4 so far) under owner name:

Towers of Mississippi II
FCC Licensee ID: L01523660

All totaled there are 22 tower regitrations in the FCC DB for phase 2 at the moment. 15 WCC owned and 4 ToM owned.

Well just to let everyone know that the tower at MHP Dist 8 HQ is up maybe a little over 100' tall with what looks like one antenna at the top of an extention pipe. So far there are no microwave antennas installed.

Went and had a quick look myself today. Thought the WCC minutes that made mention of the emergency authorization for the funds for that tower said the place was projected to be done in October. Looked like they just started building it in October to me. At least the building next to the tower that is. I didn't really look at the others that close.

I'm guessing the tower sections are 20 ft. a piece and there's 7 full sections and 1 half section on top for a total of 150 feet of tower. I didn't spend but a couple of minutes snapping some shots from across the highway. I'll most likely be back for a closer look next day or two. Maybe....hehe...

Revisited a few nearby sites and noticed Dixie Towers has already replaced ToM's ownership placards and that's about the only thing different since the last time I was at these sites.

Thinking about shooting up towards Jackson this weekend and trying to log some P2 sites. Maybe...:p
