It seems kind of funny that MSWIN was first rolled out down here in the coastal area, but still many are not using it yet, such as Harrison county, Jackson county, Stone county S.O. is still analog VHF, and Hancock just recently switched to MSWIN. One would think most in this area would have already switched over, but I guess they have their reasons for not doing so yet.

VPD, VFD, MS DOC, WCFD, WCDPW, VDPW .... Still on the Vicksburg/Warren 800 which will change once they convert the 800 to an MSWIN site. Just like they did with Rankin, Lee, Forrest, Jones, etc.. Just as Hinds, and DeSoto will be doing. Just Warren is the only one that has at least part of its change in on FCC records so far. Not to mention there are 2 sites we still do not know where are yet.

Site 151, and 152
All we do know is they are down in the Southern third of the state which is Zone 1. Not sure if one of them is Camp Shelby as I do not think they have built out that simulcast yet.

So with that in mind let me toss this out there, will the city of Jackson bring all departments to mswin, or use the Harris system on line now?

Jackson is going all MSWIN that is official and was announced to MWCC months ago. The Harris system is biggest joke ever. Barely used as it is from what I'm told by 4 people locally there. 5 if you confirm its so lol. All Hinds County agencies will be going MSWIN joining Byram on it.

The City of Jackson EDACS upgrade to that Harris P25ip was pure City Council BS showing they have to be different than Hinds County.... But note that JPD, JFD stayed right where they were. Note also, JSU left the City system and went right over to MSWIN. Once Hinds County made the plan to move to MSWIN, real fact got brought to Jackson City Council, and the wake up call of saving a LOT of money changed minds real fast. The MWCC minutes state that ALL City of Jackson, and Hinds County will be joining the MSWIN with the conversion of the Hinds County Motorola Smart Zone.

The list of switchovers as of the last time I checked ... Claiborne County, Warren County, DeSoto County, MBCI as well as using their own P25 TRS, Adams County, Hinds County including City of Jackson, Tunica County, Yazoo County, Possibly Noxubee County converting its system to MSWIN, Pike County.... That's the last list I saw.

MBCI??

You mention MBCI having their own TRS if I read your reply correctly. What would that be? Just curious. I'm sure it is non monitorable but just wondering what system they have if I understood your post?

Richland PD

Seems as if the Richland Police Department are experimenting with encryption today. Seems to be having some issues but there is for sure a heavy amount of encryption being used today on their primary dispatch talkgroup where before there was none!

Hinds is already using the MSWIN system. It is being rolled out now to all the small PD's and eventually Jackson. As of now you will hear them on both systems because they have them patched until its rolled out to everyone.

Hinds on MSWIN

That would explain why I was hearing the encryption noise on what appeared to be Hinds talk groups on MSWIN Monday morning when I was in Jackson. I was thinking it was very strange to be hearing what sounded like analog encryption on a digital system, but if it was being patched, then that would make sense. Also, I've kind of wondered for a while why Jackson county does not switch their Moto type 2 over to the MSWIN system. Maybe they will someday`.

TG 34072 - it appears to be MED DISPATCH for Jones Co. , I will hear it key up and someone mention MED DISPATCH or EMSERV and then it stops and I never hear anything else. Someone please share thoughts on this.
