On Site 119:
TG 193 - Gas reconnect. On Larchwood Drive in Goshen, NY

Orange County, Mid-Hudson region.

Site 119 is near NYSEG's Vestal headquarters, so units from out of the area are often affiliated there.

Talkgroup 141 seen on tower 104

Don't hear much out here, but did just hear "Dispatch" on talkgroup 121 asking a unit their ETA to James street in "N??? Valley". Sounded to me like North Valley, but don't know of a place called that. Might ring a bell with someone, but probably too vague. I believe what I can hear is mainly from the finger lakes region. I'll see what else I can pick up on from National Greed....errrr Grid land.

I think NYSEG has a few sites scattered around the Adirondacks, and I believe one in Lowville, I'd try searching the frequencies and depending on your location you may pick up on something. I'm in the heart of National Grid territory and can get 5 control channels most of the time.

Here's an update to the zip file I attached in the original post. (I couldn't edit that post.)

It has UASD files for the 14 sites I can receive at my location. The SQK for each is '99'. You could use them as a template for any sites in your area by just changing the CC frequency and renaming them.

There's also a file that has all the CC's known to me at this time. The SQK is '30'. It's use is mentioned in the original post.

The last file is a generic file that you could use as you travel around the state. It has all of the CC's and most of the talk groups I've been able to identify. The SQK is '9'

I'd recommend mostly using ID Search rather than scan because there are a number of talk groups in the 65xxx range that have been interesting (Related to the system setup and operations etc.) Also, testing has been noted on 128 and 228. Those TG's aren't in the files so you would miss them if you do an ID SCAN.

Does anyone knowifany of these sites can be rx in St.Lawrence County .I am sure I know answer but though I would ask maybe someone knows something

Check the NYSEG system page at NF2G.com (do I sound like a broken record yet?). It is the single most comprehensive and up-to-date source of published material about this network.

If there are new sites on the air in your part of the state, the way to find out is the same way that all of us have been discovering the information that is now known - turn on the scanner and see if you can hear any.

Then, please, post any findings to this thread or email them to feedback AT NF2G dot com.

Scanning only site 120, IDTracker logged groups 131 191 193 211 213 221 and 223. All these groups are listed in my previous post when scanning five sites. Tomorrow I'll log site114.

I am planning a trip down the Thruway on Saturday (11/15) to scope out the NYSEG system with
Pro96Com, connected to a PSR-500 and a BCD396T. Unfortunately, I will be radio free on the ham freqs because my VX-7R has died. I will have my cellphone. If you live in the middle or lower Hudson Valley and want to exchange numbers - with no guarantees of any contact - then please email me directly.

I've added UASD system files to the ZIP file in post 132 above for 23 additional sites. (37 sites total)

Keep in mind that they've added, removed, and changed CC's in the past. So if you start missing activity on a site, you'll need to check the CC's.

You might do better picking one or two mountaintop sites to monitor from. Greylock might be good and maybe a high point in the Catskills. Just a thought.

My purpose is to nail down the locations and site numbers that are covering that area. Sometimes too much reception can be a problem. I plan to stop at most of the Service Areas and check from each one. I also plan to go west on I-84 to gather frequencies for NYSEG, Stewart ANGB, and the other local airports.

FWIW, the Liberty/Sullivan County site/area on the XTL display reports it to be "Site 14" via the radio's RSSI function. What exact location or freqency, I do not know so don't ask. This could encompass Site 104/120/122. I have not cross referenced it on the RR database, but I believe its the one listed as 104 from where the radio was located.

That is all.
