Who is TG 1811 on RWC. Been active on White Tank IR. Traffice has been fire, pump testing and just driving around testing streets in Corte Bella area and Sun City West. I would think it might be SCW Fire or Surprise Fire.

What does one need to decrypt???

To literally answer one's question, one needs the decryption key.

From the Phoenix Area Trunked Radio System Quick Guide - The RadioReference Wiki ...

A word about encryption and scrambling: You may also notice that some talkgroups are scrambled and you will not be able to understand the traffic on those channels. (These talkgroups are marked with the letter 'E' on the Radio Reference pages listed below.) Due to the nature of digital encryption, specific technical information is needed to convert the scrambled signal to clear speech - and that information is only released to those individuals or agencies that need it. No scanner on the market today can be programmed to monitor encrypted communications. (emphasis added)

Besides being technologically difficult, if not impossible, it is also not lawful to decrypt most communications.

TG 4555 has been heard on both the South Mtn IR and the Thompson Pk IR sites. I believe it is a college/university security channel. I don't know yet what college/university. If anyone else would like to try to ID the location, then we can get it in the DB.

I now have TG 4554 on both the North Mtn IR and the White Tanks IR. Another college/university security channel.

Talkgroup 4999 has been monitored on Simulcast G. It sounds like law enforcement. There were several very short transmissions between officers today. Unit IDs were 719xxxx.

Goodyear? According to RWC meeting minutes, Goodyear should be coming online in May.

Goodyear did move from 856.9625 to digital. I'm trying to find out where it is so I can move my feed. Do you think it is Simulcast G TG 4999? I don't have my digital scanner running yet, so I'd love if someone could check for me.

Thx

Yes, 4999 sounds like Goodyear PD. I was listening this morning/afternoon and heard Goodyear addresses. They're on both Simulcast G and J.
Check 4998, 4997, etc for more PD channels. Where does city services/DPW operate?
My phone won't do pdf's. Is there a schedule for Tolleson coming online? They're now the last municipal PD left to join on the westside.
Paradise Valley is the last municipality left on the eastside that hasn't joined. Do they have a timeline yet?

March minutes are pending to be posted. They will likely have some info about PV. No mention of Tolleson in the agenda.

Here are the interesting agenda items from the March meeting:

Project Updates:
A. 700 MHz Narrow-Banding, TDMA, Lifecycle Hardware Phase
B. 800 MHz Re-Banding
C. Avondale Console Upgrade
D. Goodyear Police Integration onto RWC
E. Maricopa County Community College District
F. Maricopa Site
G. Paradise Valley
H. Scottsdale Coverage (Northwest)

800 MHz rebanding ought to be interesting. IIRC, everything above 866 MHz moves down 15 MHz. But what happens when there's already a user on the rebanded channel? So it remains to be seen how rebanding pans out.

The RWC is choosing to move to 700mhz rather than reband 800mhz freqs. They will still get some of the Sprint/Nextel money that they are putting toward their upgrade project. Once they are done, all sites will be 700mhz.

Ok, what about the other 800 MHz users? In the Phoenix area, that would be the Topaz RWC and Maricopa County trunked systems, and Gila River's conventional frequencies.
The ASU and (the statewide) APS trunked systems are both on the lower end of 800 MHz, as is the Sun City Sheriff's Posse conventional repeater and Peoria PD's conventional backup repeaters/simplex, so they shouldn't be affected.

Other agencies will have to reband. They have to apply for new licenses. It is the frequency coordinator's job to not assign multiple agencies in the same area to the same freq. If a reband freq is already in use, I'm guessing the coordinator would assign another freq.
