Hey Guys,
Been some time since I've been on here, and I mostly listen to the Railroads and ATC, but does anyone know what frequency SRP uses for their comms to the work crews? I have a PRO-95 and seems like just after I got it, all the Gilbert Fire and PD went to digital, such is my luck, but I was wondering if SRP might still be basic analog?
Thanks in advance...

Hi. This would probably be better suited in a seperate thread, but oh well.. Per the SWFD9, they are on VHF//UHF as well as a TRS (EDACS). Here is what is listed:

Litchfeild - 143.5300
Countywide - 153.6050
Line Maintenence - 153.6200
Phoenix - 153.635
Audio / Data controls - 153.710
Paging - 158.1900
Irrigation South - 451.200
Irrigation North - 451.2500

And theres a few different tower sites.. the best for you since ytou are in Gilbert would be the Chanlder frequencies (938.1250, 938.8875, or 938.800). I'm not really sure, but can a pro 95 pick up EDACS?

Hope that helps

Does anyone actively listen to Gilbert or Mesa PD?
I was listening to Mesa PD last night and heard a search going on with the canine units, this was on the District 4 channel (3009), which should have been on a hot channel. maybe the switched the channels around.

Are "event" channels the same as "hot" or "chase" channels.

And on Gilbert are the detail channels the same as the normal patrol channels?

thanks, many things have changed since listening to vhf.

Sniperbob,
I might be inclined to listen to them if I had a 96 or something other than my 95, but alas, that's not the case. I would also like to listen to Gilbert Fire but they too, from what I understand, are in the digital world now also. That said, I did program the SRP frequencies above and I did find a few more I need to enter, but so far, I get more comms on the high band stuff for now. I programed the EDACS channels and I thought I would see the talk group numbers displayed when I received something on those frequencies, but it, (the 95) just shows "ED: none" and nothing else. I even noticed the voice levels are lower on the 900mHz frequencies I programed? I'm guessing I'm not programing things right so I got a few things to figure out I'm sure...

AZ,
Thanks for the info. I thought Mesa was TRS? Someone told me they, (Gilbert Fire) was using the new TRS system along with Mesa and GPD? I guess I'll dig up the Mesa fire frequencies and have a listen...
The "chase" channels you mentioned. Are you refering to a TRS or channels that they use for calls?
Thanks for the info...
BTW, would you know why I don't see the ID's for the EDACS system on my 95?
Later...

PS. If I should start a new thread on this, just say so...

Mesa Fire (which dispatches Gilbert and Apache Junction) are all digital, luckily Phoenix still uses vhf, which makes it so the only way for the 2 (systems) to talk to each other is through a patch, which in our case four channels that I know of are patched through vhf.

Sniperbob,
Thanks for the info on the Mesa stuff. I was pretty sure that Mesa and Gilbert were digital and it would figure, I got my Pro-95 about 2 weeks before I know they were going digital... Go figure... Anyway, I'll slap in the 4 freq's you mentioned and see what I get. Thanks again for the info.

You should get everything. The only channels that aren't patched through are a few more tactical channels and some training channels.

Are there any tones associated with those frequencies? I had all but one of them (with CT/DC freqs specified). The one I was missing was 154.280.

By tones do you mean the ring before a unit is dipatched?

154.280 is a mutual aid channel, you can hear the helicopter pilots. ;)

There is no PL Tone used on 154.280 usualy, or there shouldn't be. That way they don't have to worry if someone has no tone in their radio and can't hear when htye need to.

RE: BC796D and Band Plans

This is a cross-post to a Q I've posted in the Uniden Scanner thread.

The BC796D allows for one to set one of four Band Plans along with CC Mode. But there is legalese that basically says some work, some don't , try it out.

Is anyone monitoring PRWN with a 796 and are you using CC/Band Plan.

Does it matter based on what system you are using. I'm trying to hook onto 101 in the 17/Dunap area.

Thanks, Mike

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
Mike,

DO NOT use CC only mode on the 796 for P25 systems. All you need to do is set it for Motorola 800Mhz trunking and program in just the control channels. The scanner automatically determines the voice channel from the data stream. Setting a CC mode will confuse the scanner and you will miss comm's. Found that out the hard way. :D

I was wondering if anyone could help me fill-in the gaps, and also identify the unidentified talk group ID’s, and maybe add any that may be missing from my list.

Hello PPL,
Here lately I have been hearing alot of activity on the following TG's,
3107
3108
I haven't had the chance yet to narrow it down to which agency it is, but I believe it's Apache Junction PD running on Mesa's P25 system.
