Any rumors of a fleetmap getting sent out to agencies. I heard there are a ton of talk groups. Since they had to split the frequencies between the two simulcast sites, hopefully capacity won’t be a issue. One good thing about TMDA slots thankfully.

Site 17's LCNs are now:
01 - 851.0750
02 - 851.3250
03 - 852.1000
04 - 860.0375 (currently the control channel)
860.0375 is LCN 3, not LCN 4. As suspected, the site is down to three channels now. The database has been updated.

Now that we got the off-topic EDACS stuff out of the way, let's get back to the ASTRO 25 system...

Word on the street is that there will be activity on the system during the New York International Air Show at Stewart next weekend.

Both simulcast cells are operational, although two subsites of the south cell (Schunnemunk and Putnam Valley) are not yet online as of this post, and not all frequencies are in use due to them still being active on the EDACS system at Arden and Graham. All pertinent info is in the database.

The system should become available in Sentinel with tomorrow morning's update, as I've added the Special Events talkgroups. No guarantee if those are the talkgroups that will be used at the air show, so I recommend enabling ID Search (Uniden) or using a wildcard (Whistler/GRE) so that the scanner will monitor all talkgroups.

A few other talkgroups have been tentatively identified during some recent sporadic testing, but I'm going to hold off on adding them to the database until the usage is confirmed.

Explains why the coverage was spotty in West Point and over on 293 and 6....those two roads have always been a problem though, hence why there is a site on Bull Hill on the West Point P25 TRS and Town of Highlands P25 UHF systems. Hopefully Schunny and Putnam sites and maybe some ISSI from Rockland will help out.

So far everyone is sounding good. But the audio could use some tweaking on the portables. If the boys are listening, I’ll throw you a bone. Go into expert setting in CPS. Turn on the XTS feature for audio equalization, will knock the low -3 and up the high +6. It will crisp it up. And turn off the Pass filter...causes distorted audio. You’re welcome.

Just heard traffic on the system. On the Special Events channels. OC Sheriffs Office. Looks like they are setting up for the Airshow.

They still have to finish getting a few sites on the air. Hopefully they can get the grid testing done after that before the foliage is gone. System acceptance, programming/issuance/installation of subscribers, training, policy/protocols regarding the 150 plus different talk groups on the system, etc. Let’s just not establish any more artificial timelines

Quick followup to my previous post. The south cell of this system will eventually use the frequencies currently in use at the Arden and Graham EDACS sites. NYCOMCO had to shut down 852.775 at Arden so it could be used as the control channel of the P25 south cell, and they moved 860.0375 from Schunnemunk to Arden due to 852.100 being activated as the traffic channel for the P25 south cell. Those two frequencies, 852.100 and 852.775, are currently the only two in service on the P25 south cell. Obviously that cell cannot operate anywhere near full capacity with just two talkpaths available.

On post #83 it is noted the potential talkgroups to be used, do we know if subscriber installation is complete and rollout is imminent?

And soon the leaves will fall and I’m still waiting for grid testing to begin. I guess it’s better to test portables with part time school resource officers or “SSD” units (they can’t even remember what to call themselves, lol) that protect our children in our schools with a system that no one else is on for interoperability, and a system that hasn’t been coverage tested and accepted. Really showing your colors Orange !

I'm thinking that all subsites should probably be on the air before any official grid testing begins???:whistle:
