For my use case, the radio is turned on and never touched again, so simple = good.

Wow, you about gave me a heart attack after I just received my -II today (and it works great!). So, I'll ask again, will one of these software versions allow me to scan at least two P25 systems and a handful of narrow band VHF analog frequencies at the same time?

The scanning features are currently being worked on, but are not available yet. Sorry if you misunderstood that. You can use the roaming feature in the existing software to monitor multiple P25 trunked systems. To do this, add the control channels frequencies to the roaming flash on the SearchDB page. After that, you can enable roaming on the P25RX Config page. See my previous post for a status update regarding the scanning features.

Tried installing FW 2022-02-09_1315 for zones and WIO capability. It ends with No sig and 0 b/sec.
Tried both bootloader and full flash methods multiple times, no help.
Attempted reverting to 2121-12-05_1308 which has been working fine, the FW install gets stuck on discovering device.
Again tried both bootloader and full flash methods multiple times and still stuck.
Now what?

My guess for the reason that you would see "no sig" at the end of the update would be that you had it configured for roaming. When the configuration gets reset to defaults, the "enable roaming" option gets set to disabled. If you enable that and press <write config>, that should probably get you up an receiving the signal again after it cycles to the currently active control channel. After that, you will need to set the TG zones to a value. Select all groups in the TG editor and press the <set selected zones> button. Enter '1' and press ok. Then press the <write talk groups> button. If you are still having trouble with the install, try unplugging the device and stopping / re-starting the software. The other thing that you may need to change in the newer version is to select the demodulation mode on the P25RX Config tab. If you are monitoring a linear-simulcast-modulation system, then select LSM, otherwise select CQPSK for optimal performance.

Thanks Todd! I'll give that a try tomorrow.

Quick question on the new P25RX-II Receiver? I have never owned one of this brand of RF Receivers & am all new to looking at & considering buying for my Digital Public Safety receiving awareness Hobby that is currently only monitored using Uniden Digital Scanners like the SDS200. Therefore, my question on the P25RX-II Receiver; do I have to constantly have this hooked up to a Computer like the Software Defined Radio's that are out there? Or, can this be just temporarily hooked up for programing on a Computer with included Programming Software, then disconnected & used for receiving (without) having to be constantly hooked up & connected to a Computer as for, that is what I do not want nor do I want to have to do just to receive & monitor my programmed Public Safety Communications?

I basically want to use this daily like I do my Uniden Digital Desktop Scanners as to where I simply get up in the Mornings, power on and simply start receiving & listening to my States local P25 Phase II Statewide Trunked System (without) having to or being required to power on & use my Computer every time to receive my Public Safety Radio Communications on the P25RX-II Receiver.

I would also be possibly using my external Scanner Receiving Antenna hooked up to the P25RX-II Receiver if at all possible instead of the included, fully compatible Antennas that come with the P25RX-II Receiver.

Yes, once you have it set-up and programmed to your liking, it will function as a stand-alone receiver... on your kitchen counter, mobile in your vehicle, on your bike, wherever. Just need either a line-in connection to hook to the line-out on the P25RX device, or a Bluetooth connection.

It has been really quiet in here lately. Hopefully, that is because everything is working well for everyone. I'm getting very close to having another release ready for the P25RX-II. There are many changes and bug fixes. The largest change is going to be that the data transfers from the receiver to the BTCFG software will no longer be a stream of scrolling ASCII in the console that gets parsed line by line. Instead, it will be various frames of binary transfers with 32-bit CRC checks. The other big change is that the "freq test" is now 2-passes. It automatically detects the demodulation type by frequency. You can also set this manually per frequency in one of the roaming table columns. It may not sound like much, but this is a very large update. These changes allow for fast scanning of P25 trunked systems with different modulation configurations. Once it is released for the P25RX-II, I will start working on getting it implemented for the P25RX. The release may be later today or tomorrow.

Finally figured out a bug that took around 20 hours to find. I'm glad to get that one out of the way. I was not able to get the release ready for today. I will shoot for having something by the end of tomorrow. There are some cool new features. I plan on making a video to demonstrate. Getting really close to having some mixed-mode support now.

I will make sure these requests stay on the list for implementation.

I'd love to see the following issues fixed before new features:
-Incorrect talkgroup labels on Con+ systems
-Impossible to switch between conventional P25/DMR and trunked systems; conventional P25 seems to tune to the frequency after shutting off software and restarting device, but no voice traffic heard; can't even get to tune to conventional DMR, it just keeps reverting to last Con+ system.

In terms of new features, I'd love to see Cap+ figured out. New Cap+ systems popping up every day here in New England.

I understand that DMR needs attention. I'm almost there. DMR configuration is going to change significantly. Rather than do a bunch of redundant work, I have been putting it off until I get multi-mode support going. Very close now.

Version 2022-02-25_1639 is available for testing. This version deserves a video to show some of the new features. I will try to get this done by tomorrow morning sometime. If you are monitoring DMR, please wait for the next release (DMR is likely not working right after all the latest changes). The next steps will be to add more columns to the roaming table (in addition to the new modulation column). Basic multi-mode scanning is very close now.

Trying 02-25_1639 it starts decoding just fine then goes bad after about a minute. Write to radio fixes it for a minute then fails again.
The red in the first screen shot is from previous failure before writing config again. Numbers appear good before it falls apart.

I wasn't expecting that. I didn't think I made changes that would affect the demod on this release. What does the NCO show? I can't read the fonts on the screen caps. It should be close to -3.28. Can you also try a reset to defaults?
