Is this also going to be implemented I the regular P25RX?
Do you mean the read-flash button or the re-implementation of everything roaming flash related? I can add the button easily enough if it would help. I will continue to update both models, but the P25RX-II will take precedence for now. So far, I've added almost every new feature from the P25RX-II development to the P25RX as well. I've done this even though it can be a lot of extra work with no direct income. I will continue to do this when I can, but there may be extra delays for huge things like re-working roaming and adding scanning.

That is great news! Very much appreciated.
Will the BTCFG-II software be open source on github like Btconfig is currently?

I couldn't get 10-21_0626 to work here. CC BLKS PER SEC at 0, no signal. Downloaded & reflashed twice, same result.
Went back to 10-20_0806 and everything fine.
P25RX-II, P25 I system, WIN 10 Home.
First glitch I've had since getting the unit two weeks ago. Great radio!

It could be. So far there hasn't been any interest in the open-source that I'm aware of.

Thank you for reporting this. Would you mind loading it again. If the receiver doesn't work after the firmware update, could you try cycling power and see if it works then? When I tested the latest on Windows 10, I noticed that the receiver RSSI was stuck at a high level and I had to power cycle it. It worked after that, so I thought it was probably a one-time glitch. It is probably being caused by changing the system delays for Windows and Linux. It does update much faster! I think I will make the timing change a startup option. (faster, slower, ask every time, don't ask again) or something similar.

Sorry I had to be away from this. In the delay I see you put up 10-21_0949. Do you still need me to re-try 10-21_0626?

I was asking about adding the re-implementation or separate list, since using the zip search and testing frequencies tends to complicate the way roaming is displayed. I understand that completely revamping a feature is a big undertaking, so in the meantime, just adding a button to clear the search results from the table and re-poplulate with only the roaming frequencies would be great. Take your time, as has been stated numerous times, the support and service you provide is top-tier. We dont mind waiting.

If you have time, it would be nice to confirm that was the issue. Alternately, you could try _0949 and confirm that it doesn't have problems with the reverted timer delays. If it works, then I will add the start-up options for the delays.

Thank you sir. It is a good question and I really thought I would have made more progress on the scanner support, but that one requires almost stopping everything and getting it done before continuing. It has been very difficult to find that block of time now. I really wanted to get that done for the P25RX-II before releasing it, but I ran out of time (money). It is a high priority for both models. I will add the <read flash> button to the P25RX software later this evening.

Ok.
Reloaded 0626. It got stuck at Firmware not up to date -working. I exited config, cycled power. It then worked.
Loaded 0949. Wow it loads fast! And, it appears to be working fine for last ten min.(y)
Thanks Scott!!!

Ohhh...I sincerely hope we P25RX users don't get left behind with scanning. That is something we have been waiting for. Please don't forget us. After all, our early support kept the operation going. Thanks.

You left out the part where I said "I will continue to update both models, but the P25RX-II will take precedence for now." I appreciate every single person that has supported this project in any way. That includes those allowing me here on RR with a sub-forum, by purchasing a receiver, by sharing information with friends. Thank you all! I fully intend to add support for scanning to the P25RX. I will add scanning support to both models. I fully intended to have it done by now, but the semiconductor fabrication industry went sideways and I had to deal with that over and over. That includes nearly maxing the credit card, borrowing money from family, and losing quite a bit of pride. Can you tell? lol. I will get it done. Let me build up a buffer for a bit and I will get back to improving both models as many hours a day as I can handle! I love it! So far, things are looking good with P25RX-II sales. I have much hope that Bluetail Technologies can pull out of this and start to thrive if the product is received well. So far, so good. Thank you all!

Hey Todd... I know you're selling -II models now... but if you're still looking for testers in simulcast hell areas like Lake County, IL, let me know. I'd be happy to help!

New version available. 10-23_0733. This has improved PC<>receiver I/O rates. (faster fw updates, TG flash, etc). I tested on Linux, Windows 10, and Ma Airbook. Let me know if you have issues. The max number of TG records has been increased. It is enough to hold all of the MARCS talk groups.

The Michigan MPSCS system has about 5,800 TGID's in Radio Reference. The new max for TG records will accommodate that as well. Having that many TG's in the radio would most likely be hard to manage. However, that eliminates any worry about running out of TG capacity. 😂

I had this problem once before and I forgot what Todd told me to do to fix it. When I have switch control channel after zero seconds i only receive 1 of the 3 sites I have set to roam. When I switch it to 1 second it starts roaming again. I am using a P25RX-2 with Version 10-23-21 07:33

When you set the timeout to 0, the receiver uses the CC status bits (and EVM). There will be many more configuration options when I get the scanning profiles up and running. I promise, I'm trying to get to this very soon. There may be many issues while making this transition and messing with all the flash stuff. It is a challenge to make it work on Linux, Windows, and Mac in this regard. If I can figure out how to make it more consistent between platforms, (I'm working on that now), then changes to all the flash formats will be much less painful.

Something you might try with the current firmware when using the roaming / 0 sec is to set make sure the VGA is set to AUTO gain and change the VGA step time to 10ms. Does that help?

Yes sir thanks!
Thanks for reporting back! I'm glad to hear that worked for you. I just now uploaded a new version 10-24_0942 that will force all gains to be AUTO mode and the VGA step to be 10ms when roaming is enabled and set to '0' timeout. I tested it here too. It works well.
