Your information was supplied by Uniden to me as a long time Beta tester by a Uniden official who monitors these forums.SUCCESS!!!
I rarely use any exclamation points when posting, but you get three.
It took a couple of tries, but the firmware successfully upgraded.
A couple of notes.
I used my laptop with a direct connection to the scanner via USB. No going through multi port hubs.
I connected via Verizon Mobile Data on my smart phone. As noted, Spectrum blocks the port needed.
The scanner will power up and display a blank screen. There is no other indication that it is in write mode.
I had better luck by plugging it into the USB port and then starting BC_VUP.
BC_VUP found the correct ComPort. When I pressed the Next button, I got a message telling me that the firmware was already installed and asking if I wanted to cancel the update. Select "NO" and go from there.
Firmware wrote I then pressed the power button to turn the scanner off, installed the batteries, and started the scanner up. Checked the firmware version and it is correct.
Where did you find those instructions? I thought I looked everywhere, but apparently not.
Thank you.
I'm glad it worked for you.
