As I posted earlier, Mt. Pisgah is located in East Troy and not Canton. It is about 15 miles south of the border and Canton is about 40. And I don't know why the map says that. And Robwood is probably closer to New Albany than Wyalusing. And speaking of BRAD31, I picked up a discussion on it earlier concerning a fishing incident.

I am now in the process of setting up my dilapidated, tired old laptop and programming the TRX-1 with a STARNet P25 V-folder. It will include one SCANSET assigned to a STARNet P25 trunk and individual (as in BRAD31 and BRAD41) SCANSETS. As there is the possibility that I can receive Tioga county I will include them as well.

FCC locations listed on licenses are often very vague / not really as near to the actual location as one would expect. But if you read the location information on the license and it describes a geographic location, that's probably a much closer proximity. the lat/long coordinates really tell the tale. It is highly likely that the actual sites are at Robwood Mountain and Mt Pisgah despite the licenses listing Canton and Wyalusing. Just depends on how the PA Admins want them to be listed.

Good luck doing what you want to do with the TRX. I only say that because it sounds like a lot of work.

Mike

PS: For both 1.113 and 1.114, the lat/long coordinates definitely put them on the mountains, and nowhere near Canton / Wyalusing in reality. But when companies file FCC apps they need to list a location and usually pick a location that is nearby and known to them like a town, rather than a mountain.

I was reading a thread the other day about mapping. They are apparently based on Google maps. Out here in the sticks they have airports in the middle of hayfields and businesses miles from where they should be. And I haven't played with any GPS devices as yet. I have enough on my plate as it is.

And looking at the map, I might be able to get TIOG06, which is about as far away as Robwood.

My guess for 1.111 is around LUZE06 Ricketts Glen/Luzerne? PC WPWW352 Loc
There is no indication of a VHF trunked site at LUZE06. No commonwealth or FEHLC licenses there.

It's more likely that Site 111 is Catawissa (COLU01), based on the peers of 112 (COLU02) and 101 (LUZE04).

If someone is able to check the neighbors of Site 72 to see if 111 appears in the list, that would be helpful.

I modified the names in the database. I think it makes more sense to use the closest geographic name, whether that's a mountain name if there is one or closest town. But, as noted, neither of those town names was particularly close by.

I seem to be unable to monitor TIOG06 from either my residence or from the hilltop west of me. And with this virus situation I'm not planning a trip to Tioga county.

In the meantime, I can begin monitoring this:

FYI,
That license is for conventional (non-trunked) FMN Mode, and likely will be very quiet (If not totally silent) with the TRS coming online in the area.. But worth a listen none the less..

Yesterday I received TG 10090 in Erie County. It was only 2 short transmissions that were encrypted. Not sure what this would be, since I have all PSP set to Avoid.

With it being ENC that is the unknown. The WIKI has it being PSP Air to ground. It is possible. I think the FBI, US Marshals could be using this system as well as their are quite a few ENC TG's .
PA State Police Air 10090-10095
  • 10090 PSP Air to Ground Common? PSP Air 1? ENC ALLE59/CHES02/LANC33/PHIL02 (01/23/2019) [Pittsburgh (07/16/2019) ] [PHIL02-800 (01/20/2020)]
  • 10091 PSP NW Air to Ground ENC ERIE80/VENA12
  • 10092 PSP SW Air to Ground ENC ALLE59/CAMB02 [Pittsburgh (07/16/2019) bjm]
  • 10093 PSP NE Air to Ground ENC PIKE31
  • 10094 PSP SE Air to Ground ENC CHES02/LANC33 (01/18/2019)

Wild ass guess is the 10090 tg is PSP Air to Air since the other air channels were confirmed with a ground based radio.

I logged it also in SEPA yesterday evening and many hits today at 11,1 and 3 (Pocopson site, Chester CO) . Perhaps they patched it system wide for a test. 6-8 hits in Unitrunker. Also PSP Global TAC hits.

All over the map.
I already spoke to a few people, but are there any new or fully active sites in particular that the PA Admins or principal STARNet-P25 submitters/researchers need Pro96Com run on for some detailed research?

I'll be headed home from work back to the states in a few weeks, and I'm gonna be in need of a road trip. Social distanced to the bubble of the mobile rig of course. I'd be happy to take some drives and let her rip where needed. Easton to West Middlesex, Greencastle to Lawerenceville, end to end...doesn't matter where.

I believe this is PSP Air 1. That talkgroup is still carried on the 700MHz air-ground system. Out this way, whenever I see enc traffic on 10090 on the new system, it matches traffic on Air 1 on the 700 system.
