Then entire TRS is encrypted. The only thing available to listen to is online feed which is just dispatch and firegrounds, or the dispatch channel on a scanner.

That it is but you can still pull all the iden frequencies and pull TGs from the transmissions. It recently has gone Phase 2. I am working on building the database.

It's kinda pointless when you can't monitor it for audio. Fire and EMS tried getting E removed and Green said it was going to cost too much. Just another lie to the commissioners.

He doesn't even come out to program the radios he does everything OTAP😂 its just a check box. I will talk to the commissioners. I know 2 of them quite well.

I’m aware they have OTAP and it was still shot down to remove E from Fire and EMS at a meeting a year or two ago. Makes zero sense.

I didn’t say it was a bad thing. I worked law and am
A dispatcher. It has it place but on everyday fire and EMS channels? Nah

Issue from what standpoint? Let me give you an example of one of my issues, when my own conversations at my previous employer in Maryland on my radio tech talkgoup were posted word for word here in these forums, I went red and the very next day, I made my radio tech talkgroup encrypted.

Not to be ignorant but we the scanner/radio enthusiasts do it to ourselves, by posting it on here and by hosting scanner feeds that criminals have access to, the 1st one is our fault, the 2nd one not so much, but it presents a problem that most people in the radio business don't like and soon we will be out of a hobby when it comes to public safety communications.

It is unfortunate, but it is, what it is.
