In the RWC DB, under Phoenix Fire Talkgroups, there are talkgroups described as “VHF-Patched Ch x”. I have never heard Phoenix Fire VHF patched to the RWC (other than Ch 1). Are these valid? Has anyone ever heard these talkgroups active?

1743 VHF-Patched Ch 2 Fire-Tac
1742 VHF-Patched Ch 3 Fire-Tac
1741 VHF-Patched Ch 4 Fire-Tac
1777 VHF-Patched Ch 5 Fire-Tac
1776 VHF-Patched Ch 6 Fire-Tac
1775 VHF-Patched Ch 7 Fire-Tac
1774 VHF-Patched Ch 8 Fire-Tac
1773 VHF-Patched Ch 9 Fire-Tac
1771 VHF-Patched Ch 10 Fire-Tac

I havn't heard any thing on them except CH 1 now and then. I only listen to Estrella IR and White Tank IR which has all the K deck channels being repeated

Although I'm not a full time resident, I'm a resident none the less, and I have never heard any activity on those talkgroups, except for Ch. 1.

I thought that maybe those were the channels they send all the "big" stuff to. I was wrong. Every time they have something big (I guess it would be synonymous to a hot call for PD) They put it on "Channel 3" or "Channel 8" and I can't figure out which talk groups those are, because they're not K deck....

Hot zone calls still go to VHF channels, hot zone calls would be fires, injury accidents with haz mat or fire aircraft down etc. They go to VHF channels 3 to 14 excluding 1,2 and 12. All other calls go to K or L decks. There are no talkgroups on the 800 system for VHF channels 2 through 14 only dispatch channel 1 is patched to the 800 system.

OH! I see now. So if I wanted to add those channels, I would have to change the TSYS to "Mot VHF/UHF?" Are there different frequencies, too?

No, the VHF channels should be programmed under CONV objects. If you're receiving K and L decks just fine leave the TSYS alone.

Those are the VHF frequencies.

Thanks a lot for posting those. I programmed them in and they work! It's the first time I've ever had to use the squelch nob.
