What frequency is Piedmont FD in Greenville County dispatched on? I have never heard them dispatched on the Greenville County channels or the Piedmont FD channel (154.400) but I don't monitor them that much and I may have missed them being dispatched.

Also what frequency are the Pickens Co. Rescue Squads and Easley Rescue dispatched on?

Can't help on the Piedmont FD, but all Pickens County Rescue Squads, the Haz-Mat Team, and the Dive Team are dispatched on the Pickens County Channel 3 (155.115 mhz). The 155.775 mhz freq (Channel 4) is a tac channel for Easley Rescue (Rescue 8) along with the 453.100 mhz freq. Both repeaters are owned by Easley Rescue and are sited in the Easley area. Either the 155.775 or the 453.100 will be going into the dispatch console in the near future as a dispatch monitored tac channel to relieve radio traffic congestion during severe weather, etc.

The Emergency Management Channel listing is:

Ch. 1 - 155.175 EMS dispatch (Pal 800 is used as a tac)
Ch. 2 - 155.340 Ambulance to hospital (Cell phones also used a lot)
Ch. 3 - 155.115 Rescue squads, prison, vehicle maintenance, landfill ops, etc.
Ch. 4 - 155.220 (EMS, Rescue squads except Easley - 155.775)
Ch. 5 - 155.280 Ambulance to hospital, Rescue on scene command
Ch. 6 - 151.340 Rural fire dept. dispatch, except Six Mile FD 159.1125 mhz.

Hope this helps.

Since Piedmont sits on the Greenville/Anderson county line, is it possible that Piedmont FD is dispatched from Anderson?

How is that generally handled - when a town is in two different countys?

I would guess how much area the town takes up in each county.

In NC, Alexis volunteer fire department is dispatched by both Lincoln County and Gaston County since their district is located in both counties. That has not changed from when they used to have just one station in Gaston but have recently opened a second station in Lincoln.

That's the way Gowansville FD is dispatched. They are dispatched by Spartanburg and Greenville according to what county the call is in. Tyger River FD in Lyman is dispatched by Spartanburg and Greer, Pelham-Batesville FD is also dispatched by Spartanburg and Greer.

I can't normally receive Anderson County FD dispatch where I live so I don't know if they are dispatched by them or not. I can only receive them when the ducting is good, but I can always receive Anderson PD. I did check the Anderson County fire stations list and they are not listed.

Piedmont is not listed on the fire station quick call codes file on the Anderson county page. That leads me to believe that Greenville County dispatches them on the 155.235 mhz remote.

Pelham-Batesville FD is also dispatched by Spartanburg and Greer.
when I worked in 911 at spartanburg co the procedure was to call Greenville County (EMS) if there was a call for Pelham Batesville FD. did they change it to where Spartanburg dispatches them now?

Yes Spartanburg dispatches them for calls in Spartanburg County and Greer dispatches them for calls in that area. Pelham Station 4 also runs mutual aid with Greer on most structure fires as the RIT team.

Piedmont FD is actually in a special tax district, when Greenville or Anderson county receives a 911 call from the Piedmont fire district it's bounced to the Piedmont Fire dept who dispatches itself and their volunteers.
And as someone who works closely with Piedmont FD, that is the correct frequency....

BTW anyone wanna buy some fully loaded Astro Sabers, both UHF and VHF? I got too much stuff....

So Piedmont acually pays for dispatchers to man the phone and radio 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week to dispatch only the fire department? That is interesting in itself.

It's possible they have volunteers staffing those duties, especially members who are not as fit for active duty as others.
