Any one with a Harris or Macom radio having trouble with scanning the Pinellas P25 System? I have a P7100 ( that works on Hillsborough Edacs, no problem) and a P5100 that were working fine for 4-5 years on the Pinellas P25 no problem, but now, and in the last month or so I get absolutely nothing. So I updated the CC list that is listed here to 49 CCs, and I still get nothing. My Motorola APX 7000 works fine on the Pinellas System. Stumped. If any one has any idea, I would sure appreciate it (If any one wants to take a look at my .pers file, I can send it to you. I did it with RPM 10.bo7.) TIA
There are a few data points that stick in my mind here.

1. the APX works. That's good.

2. BOTH the Harris radios do not work. No good.

3. The Harris radios worked at one time, but now they do not. (aka - "what changed since last time" (control channels, etc. - which I think you have addressed) - but what else?

4. I would have to make one of only a few logical conclusions here, one of which I don't know enough about Harris to really discuss at length....but

a. The Harris radios are no longer programmed correctly. (likely)
b. The Harris radios are both out of alignment. (less likely)
c. The Harris radios are inhibited <<< I do not know if a Harris inhibit is the same as Moto.... e.g., dead display, etc. (improbable?)

keep in mind in the days of the first generation of Astro Saber radios.... I must have tuned 100 of them over the early years where people would blast an S-record into them (cough LA_ROVER) and then wonder why VSELP no longer worked..... (because the tuning values were messed up.....)

Batdude,! Yeah, it’s gotta be something with the PinellasP25 settings. Something changed..on their end that I‘m not getting....Both radios were doing fine on that system ( Harris radio on a Motorola P25 System) a few months ago with the settings I put on them 4-5 years ago until 2 or 3 months ago...then silence..on both! I put all the newer CCs in order and still nothing. I have to figure out what is up. It’s probably something simple I need to change......

Have you checked your Ref Oscillator settings? Dicking around with some old 7100s, I noticed if it was off it would only receive edacs or only receive p25. You have to find the soft spot.
FL2WAYRF, Do by chance have any Harris radios? If so, would you be willing to look at my .pers file, or, if you are in the area, load it into one of your radios to see if it works? I would be grateful. That way I could verify if my .pers is good or I have a tuning problem in both the P5100 and the P7100. Thanks

Did you ever figure it out?

The site does appear to be down per decoder.

it seems site 4 has been down for a few weeks.

some antenna moving going on soon, motorola will re-cable antennas to a new tower, no idea if that is related to site 4 being down. you might hear mention of it on the Tuesday net Pinellas County ACS/ARES | A volunteer organization of amateur radio operators helping Pinellas County, FL and its Citizens (pcacs.org). Also the there is finally a communications trainer who is laying out specific training agendas to get that group up to a lofty goal of "auxcomm" level for its members, and they will have more activities and they hope more will join. I haven't seen the latest mobile com gizmo, but apparently the guy in charge got a really nice one. They hope for more members as they become more active, as in more interesting than just sitting in the pinellas emergency com center once a month.

I know Tarpon Springs PD is encrypted . When PCSO Eagle has a call in Tarpon do they use the Tarpon PD enc talkgroup or something else?

They switch to Tarpon’s channels. They have seamless access to all of the local agencies, Clearwater’s system included.

As stated above, their radio has the county adp key so they are able to access Tarpon Springs. When in Clearwater, they will contact city comm center on either dispatch talkgroup then usually move over to Tac-2.

Visiting Pinellas County for the week, been listening in, anybody know of a good way to block traffic from the PSTA Buses in SDR Trunk? Anybody have a range of radio IDs they talk on, they don't seem to stick to a talk group listed here and tend to go radio to radio a lot. Got my Alias list set up pretty well for things I want to listen in on, but not having much luck filtering out those bus drivers talking to dispatch about their shift and routes they are taking.

4625000-5291, 25000-25322 is what I have in my notes, hopefully that helps.
Thanks, I'm going to give those a whirl, I had some time to monitor it and saw the 25xxx on the buses, but didn't know the upper and lower bounds for them. Also, I've noticed them talking to a 706240 and 706111 (I think) so I was guessing the dispatch radios are of the 706xxx but again, wasn't sure what the upper and lower bounds would be for those.

Yes, 706xxx would be consoles. Been a few years since I listened to the govt limos, with no plans to ever again.

Are you hearing PSTA? They should all be encrypted.
