Does anyone know any pager or POCSAG frequencies in the Halifax area? I know about the two Hospital Paging Frequencies around 138-140MHz but cant seem to come across any others here locally....anyone know any? I've been playing with my RTL SDR using SD++ and the PDW app....

Thank you

To the best of my knowledge Pagers/Paging is pretty much a dead technology here in Canada. I was searching for any companies that offered any type of paging services a few years back and at that time it looked like all the mobility providers in had torn out their paging infrastructure years before.

I certainly haven't seen any local paging signals here in NB. Just the strong signal from the US on 152.6 MHz

I'd love to be wrong on that. Paging was a good and useful technology.

Pagers/Paging is pretty much a dead technology here in Canada.
here in the west they are all over , a few hospitals, a few of the commercial providers Paging network of canada have a bunch of their 929 mhz still active allbeit it very quiet , pagers for other things show up I can still here ex : 464.65 no license for it I can find I hear it allover lower mainland and fraser valley
golf courses out here use them , small FD's use them out here
vancouver island use them abit , as some areas have no cell coverage as do radio providers in remote communities on their own RCC's wherebye cell is non existent and radio only way to go , some have left autotel intact from phone provider. I wouldnt classify as dead , but certainly nothing like in the hey day when pager barf would interfere with scanning before ctcss
I dont think paging is dead in halifax , I see it being quiet
