Some more thoughts....

A) I don't think that Butler EMS will migrate to this system. I base this due to Butler EMS is:
  1. A privately owned company that is under contract.
  2. Operates well outside the range of the system
  3. Would have to purchase all new equipment.
I think that the feed will remain as is, but hopefully with a better-quality connection!

B) I don't know what the status is going to be with PB Fire. The feed seems to be, as far as I can tell, only the apparatus/portable radio traffic. I haven't heard dispatch that I can recall. Even though the FD is utilizing the same emission mode (NXDN), they are on VHF High Band and not 800 MHz. They would have to get all new radios to be on the new system. I can't think of any legit reason why they wouldn't go to the system - but they may be waiting on funds to get the new equipment.

I'm picking up bits and peices just running site 1. I think BC EMS is running on there. All I heard was (show us in route all zeros) which is what I've heard them say many times. I'm just running on site 1

That is a feed from their system. Unknown if it is an RF link or some type of VOIP connection. Sometimes it is really readable, but others it is really poor quality.

Pretty much everything I'm getting is one sided. I don't know If a dedicated 800-900mhz. antenna would help or not. I'm in a really bad location for 800mhz signals.

Picking up bits and peices of PB City Fire on site 1
I was in Bluff this morning/afternoon and picked up a bit more info. Only the vehicle/portable transmissions from the FD are on TG 108. I was sitting in the Walmart parking lot switching back and forth from the VHF FD frequency of 154.220 to the 800MHz system. I hear both the dispatch and apparatus on 154.220 - but - only the apparatus on TG 108. I heard this on both site 2 and 3. So this is positively confirmed it is a feed, probably from the input side of their VHF repeater - but that is a WAG on my part.

Second thing is the "Unit xxx" that displays. That is for sure their mobile radios. I was on Westwood heading up to the VA for a medical appointment, and heard a unit go out on a traffic stop a few blocks ahead of me. I glanced at the scanner as I was at a stop light at that time and saw "Unit 122" on the display. When I got to where the stop was, I glanced at the patrol vehicle and saw that the license tag had PBPD-122 on it. So, the tag number of the vehicle is what they programmed into the radio as the "text tag".

I keep hearing a lady dispatcher hollering for 2303 but, I never hear 2303 unless he is hollering for her. About to drive me the rest of the way nuts lol! I never hear the twi in an actual conversation. And the both come in loud and clear.

I've been wondering about getting a dedicated 800-900 antenna with good gain, and mounting it to the facia board of my porch. If that would work, it would save a lot of money over buying a mast. Those things are really expensive.

He was out on the portable - was listening to it as well. He was having radio problems. If you notice that sometimes the first part of their (the officers) transmission is getting cut off or they just seem to key down. That is due to the need for the radio to do it's "trunking magic" and you have to wait for the beep after you key down to start talking. This is new to them because they didn't have to do that before.

I bet it will take getting used to I'll bet. I'd like to have one of those DPD Productions antennas. Those are $170.00 before tax and they charge a hefty price for the shipping.

Just heard a girl blasting through hear from EMS. Of course I couldn't hear the reply. I must be missing UIDs or something. I'm still new to this 800mhz trunking.

That's a good price, I'm going to have to check into that. With the gain that might help a lot.
That is what I use, there is a pic of this antenna earlier in this thread. I pick up the south site with an RSSI of ~400 consistently and if I turn it towards Dexter, I can get the Dexter 700 MOSWIN site with an RSSI of ~350 or so consistently as well.

Yeah, I think I'll get one of those. Will I need some kind of multicoupler for the two antennas?
