Port Authority EDACS and BC296

Hi,


I just purchased myself a Uniden BC296 handheld and have tried to program the Port Authorty PD's TRS into the scanner, but do not have sucess in hearing active talkgroups.

I have followed the LCN, set the scanner for EDACS Wide, and have programed the talkgroups in. The scanner will lock onto the system and trunktrack, even ID search, but will not lock on a conversation. I even turned on the Activity ID feature and see the JFK and EWR talkgroups with activity so its not like they arent talking.


Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

For an EDACS system your first frequency should be on channel 1 not 0 or else it will not work.

What do you mean it has to be on channel 1 not 0? Can you help me out?

I have a bank in the scanner set up for PAPD and FDNY, In that bank I programmed the seven freqs in the system towards the end of the bank...no good?

trunked systems should be the first freq's in the bank the conventional after those

More specifically, for EDACS and LTR systems, you must enter the frequency in the bank's channel that correspond with that frequencies logical channel number (LCN). Since there are no LCN's of 0, you start with LCN1 = channel 1. If any LCN's are skipped in the system, skip the corresponding channel in the bank.
