I've had my 106 for about 5 days now. So far I'm loving it. However I do have a question on the backlight settings. I have it set for the backlight to come on whenever it stops on a TGRP or CONV channel. However I have noticed that sometimes when I put the scanner in Pause or Manual mode on certain TGRP's or CONV channels that the backlight will turn off as soon as I hit the Pause or Manul button. And if I leave it on Pause or Manual the light won't come back on with subsequent transmissions even though the light is set to come on in the Menu. This doesn't happen with all TGRP'S or CONV objects just some of them. So is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I know on my Uniden 396 the backlight will come on no matter if I have the talkgroup or conventional channel scanning or on HOLD.

There are lots of various settings for the backlight and the LED. Are you using software or manually doing the settings??
I'm using software to program with. And yes I know there are various settings for the backlight and LED as well. When I created the CONV and TGRP objects I set the backlight to be On when ever the scanner recieved something on those CONV or TGRP objects. However it seems on some CONV and TGRP objects when I place them in Manual or Pause the backlight won't come on even though I have it set to do so in the Menu and it comes on when it stops on them while Scanning. If I'm understanding the feature right the backlight should come on for the CONV or TGRP object is set right everytime the scanner breaks squelch on that CONV or TGRP object no matter if I'm in scan mode or in Pause mode.
