Greetings to all... I have a trunked system I monitor in my area (the county sheriff) and applied a GREEN LED to latch steady during the radio transmission. When the transmission is over and the scanner reverts back to scan mode, that GREEN LED remains lit... Lit green for quite some time... even stays lit GREEN until the next transmission hits. Say the next hit on a freq is my local police, I applied the BLUE LED to the local police. The GREEN LED turns BLUE, the police transmission continues, then the transmission ends and the scanner reverts to scan mode... the LED remains BLUE for ever during scan.

Is there a way I can have the LED color turn off emediately after the last transmission hit ? I may have overlooked the tweeking of this feature in the owners manual. Thanks in advance, for any help with this.

From my User Manual (and possibly yours):

Audible Alarm and ALERT LED Settings
Each object you create has the following ALERT LED and
Audible Alarm settings:

LED Mode: Solid or Flash controls whether the LED
remains on solid or flashes when the object is active.

LED Color: 0-7 sets the color of the LED. By default, color 0
is used for LED off. You can change the LED colors in the Global
Settings menu.

Latch LED keeps the LED on after activity on the object is
finished.
This is useful in cases where you need to know if an
object was active while you were away from the scanner.

so what you are saying is, the LED color shall remain "ON" or permanently latched (illuminated) until the next hit or transmission. Latch is a constant setting even though the radio begins scanning again. If thats the case, I need to set the LED settings to flash mode, and then set the time out setting or flash rate for the LED.

It's the User Manual that's "saying it" - if programming by hand set the LED Mode to Solid (NOT FLASH). If programming with Win500 leave LED latch & Led Flash unchecked.

Thanks TES, I got it, I turned off latch, turned on flash, and set the rate of flash on my PSRedit500 and now I'm in great shape. Have a great day, and happy monitoring to you. Man oh man, this scanner is awesome.
