I had the idea of buying them up for resell but did not follow through. Funny, I didn't even think about not having a numeric keypad. I have just been listening and enjoying. if I wanted to tune a specific frequency, I would be lost without the manual or PC interface. Still for $200 you can't beat the capabilities.

I have over a dozen radios including the Pro-18 since it first came out. I don't have any issues with its performance, especially sensitivity. I do not use the stock antenna though.

I joined the Pro-18 club yesterday...that sale price was just too good to walk away from. I still have some tweaking to do but I had little trouble getting it up & running. When you consider that my most advanced scanner previous to this is an old 20-ch., direct-entry Pro-2023 from about 1990...well, speaks volumes about the RR resources and database! So far I am very happy with the Pro-18, even though I know it is going to be an ongoing learning experience.

If you know the frequency , then you probably know the agency that is on it. Therefore you just use the Library Import from the on scanner Library and you don't need a computer.

Same here for portable use I use the RS 800mhz rubber duck and at home it hook it up to the outside ST2.

That is a pretty incredible price! Gotta be the highest channel per dollar scanner ever. I may grab another.

Went to get one at the store that supposedly had one, and they were out. Guy is supposed to ship one to his store from north Arkansas. I guess we'll see.

Next price $99.98 which prob makes it worth it in a way. Still didnt like the scanner at 199.98 but minus 100 can change that quick LoL

my local store didnt have one, but i did call and confirm a store less then 30 miles from me does have one. And they have it listed at the websites price too! I thought long and hard about it, but decided to decline. i might regret it a little later, but that regret should go away when i use that money towards the purchase of one of the new scanners at the beginning of next year.

Same thing here. Punched in my zip code and a store about 4 miles away was supposed to have one. They had a PRO-163 for $99.99. A Uniden analog handheld for $199.99. And, a non-trunking for less than a hundred. That was the extent of their scanner stock. Damn.

I picked one up today and really like it. Its not like any other scanner I've owned so learning how to use it is half the fun.

Plus, at that price for a brand new digital trunking scanner how the heck can you go wrong?
