pro 96 DSP LOAD

Apologies if this was asked before, i missed the thread if so.

A friend pro 96 has suddenly seemed to develop a problem.

The unit seems to be locked in a loop

Turn unit on and this is what happens

1st screen ----
DSP LOADING
Boot F1.0

2nd screen
DSP LOAD
PC/IF Port
Flash Mem

Then unit freezes here.

Tried reset button no luck...
previous time when this happened, the problem was cleared by loosening the back screws a notch. This time that hasent even helped.

even locked in this screen, computer wont talk to radio.

Any ideas?

battery change and AC power make no difference

If loosening the screws worked in the past it sounds like the board is shorting out against something inside OR the main board has a crack. I would take it apart and try to find the problem, it might be obvious when you open it up.
