Just got mine out of the box. Much more solid feeling radio than I expected. SN 002835 on mine. Took it out and put it on a service search (RR) seems to be working fine. USB and disc were in the box. Still can't beleive the price ! Mike

Got mine 001191 box appears to have been previously opened though and it had current firmware already on it.. Unit itself looks new and thus far appears to function as it should, but hell for $79.99 I'm not gonna complain about it.

Rob, glad it worked out for you! Just got lucky , I hadn't checked overstock.com for a long time. I was just bored on the Internet and checked for radio scanners. And there it was. Actually I thought there had to be some error before I made the OP. But heck , if this radio was a basic ( think GRE 100) $80 would have been an ok price. It's really hard to lose on this deal. Yes, I want the iScan for Pro-18 also. Am about to purchase one without the CD. If someone could just upload it somewhere and give a download link that would be great. I got the iScan for Pro-107 that way. Thanks in advance!!

I have to admit I am really starting to like this scanner. I have not even got the CD out. Just dialed in my local systems, and been listening for the last 24 hours. Very pleased so far. Mike

I'm glad to hear that it's the real deal! Mine still hasn't been delivered due to treacherous weather conditions

If the ones that have been delivered so far are any indication, I think you will really like it. I just can not believe how little info there is on the internet as far as this model(reviews). Mike

Same here just got mine couple hours ago. Brand new in the box still taped up. Pulled it out put in new rechargeable battery that already had ready to go. Turned on scanner and was up and running within 15 minutes. Most of that was waiting for the playlist to load up. Now doing updates as mine was old firmware.

You guys are clearly full of baloney. Everybody knows you're supposed to spend days and hundreds of posts trying to get your scanner to work. Oh wait, I forgot this is a GRE scanner LOL!!

Mine arrived today as well, just the radio in the box - no belt clip, antenna, nor CD. An FYI in case this happens to anyone else - when I first fired it up, I was not getting any P-25 audio on any of my area talkgroups. Evidently somehow a DSP version 1.2 got installed on the scanner - per the iScan software, the latest version of the DSP for the PRO-18 is 1.1. I "downgraded" the DSP to 1.1 and P-25 is working perfectly now. Maybe that's why the scanner was evidently returned? lol

Anyway, I love it, it's basically a PSR-800 for $80. I was easily able to copy my PSR-800 configuration over to the PRO-18 using the PSR-800 software (it just only copies the default VScanner folder and the first 100 scanlists, which I think others have discovered as well). Many, many thanks to Haley for the tip!

Good to hear everyone is having good luck so far!

Jason thanks for posting that video! Sounds good on your system!

Wjil, thanks for the firmware heads up. I haven't even checked mine yet. Plan on doing that some tonight!

Was glad i could pass the info along and a lot of people got to take advantage of it. But, I keep wondering if the person that set that price is still employed ! Mike

Your welcome...

I guess i'm lucky in that can step out my backdoor and see the lights on Wolfe tower it's roughly 6 miles line of sight from my home. Another tower is roughly 3-4 miles and two more are within 12-13 miles, so I got a great signal with the supplied antenna.

I also wonder if that person is still employed as well..

That's pretty funny, I can see the local EDACS site tower out my window as I type. That's good and bad for me-----the local NOAA station is off that tower too. I DX NOAA stations, so sometimes that really hurts me. Its good you can use the supplied antenna, I put the RS 800Mhz one on mine. I just now realized the att. has been on since I fired it up! Don't know how I missed that.

Does anyone know what the latest firmware/dsp ect. versions are? Mine is showing 1.3,1.1, and 1.6 in that order, from the top of the screen. If anyone wants a good reference Marks Scanners is a great site with easy to read manuals. Thought I would post that info just in case people don't know about it. Mike

Only have issues with the one tower that's 3-4 mile from me as the local VFD is still dispatched over there VHF channel along with the new digital channel.

Ok change that showing 1.0 1.3 and DSP 1.1

Computer updated the following from the CD.

Database update to 349

Software is 1.02

I still learning my way around the radio, so I might be looking in wrong area.
