I have a Pro-96 and use Win96 to program. I web imported the Baltimore City Fire Dept.. On the Win96 software it only shows that it downloaded the 4 channel frequencies and ID's only for the City Fire Department. Then I downloaded to the scanner. When I listen to it on the scanner, there are a lot of other ID's that come up for different agencies that I did not download. Not sure what is going on. Any help would be appreciated on what to do to correct this or what is going on.

You have some of the finest minds here that will be happy to help you figure it out, but we really need more information about your programming to give you good answers. My guess is you told the software (or it defaults to) adding a wildcard and you didn't realize it.

Not the finest mind here, but agree with above. You may have chosen to download only FD TGs without knowing and a Wildcard. Maybe Win96 ignored PD TGs because they're mostly Encrypted.

Just my guess

Been a long time since I touched my 96, but I don't remember it having "wildcards". I believe it has an "open" and "closed" mode, indicated by a either a - or + sign. Closed is what you want to only hear the TG's you downloaded.

Were you able to solve the problem? KevinC has the answer. You need to use Closed mode to receive only the talkgroups programmed. Open mode is equivalent to ID Search or a Wildcard.

Press function and the 5 key to.toggle to closed mode.

When the radio is in closed mode you will only receive the talkgrouos you entered

Also the PRO96 doesn't have wildcards. Wildcards came along latter with PRO106
