My local highway department uses Motorola MotoTrbo IP Site Connect, two sites with of course two separate repeater output frequencies. Do I program my scanner frequencies for this system as two separate conventional DMR channels? How do I ensure my TRX-1 picks up the highway department as the trucks roam from one site to another? My city uses this system for six departments; I find it hard to believe I would have to enter all six departments twice, with different repeater frequency for each IP Site Connect site. Yes I'm certain it's IP Site Connect and not Capacity Plus/Max.

Program it as Trunked and enter both frequencies in the same site. It will then skip the control channel data bursts, if there are any in a site connect system, and checks the voice slots for traffic.

In TRX scanners you never have to enter anything several times as one trunked TG programming can be assigned to as many systems as you like.

If you program it as conventional you will have to program a wild card to receive all the TG's or just one TG for one channel programming that will end up to a lot of programming if you wish to have name tags for each TG. TRX will compile all those lines with TG's that have the same frequency when you start scan and will only scan the frequency once and check all the different TG's programming for a match. But it's easier to use a Trunked System programming.
