Radioshack Pro-92

I can't get my Radioshack Pro-92 original scanner, to work...
It appears to let me program frequencies, but no sound, from the scanner.
I bought this defective scanner on Ebay, the seller told me it works !
I believed him, so I've been trying to get it to work ever since...
I should of returned it when I had the chance!
I hope RadioReference, can help me to get this scanner to work.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but an analog-only Pro-92 isn't going to work for Myrtle Beach. At the very least you're going to need an P25 Phase-I trunk tracking digital scanner to pick up Myrtle Beach on Horry County's TRS. Preferably a Uniden SDS100 or SDS200 to combat simulcast distortion you'll likely face if you're within listening range of two or more towers on the simulcast. Look at the map to determine where you are in relation to the towers in your area

Probably works fine for anything analog (Mode AM, FM or FMN in the RRDB)

Not working doesn't really clarify what the issue is. Does it power on? Can you turn on the display backlight? Do you hear static out of the speaker with the squelch turned fully counter-clockwise and the volume up? What do you get when you try to monitor one of the WX channels? What frequencies did you program? Can you see it "scan" on the display? We need a lot more details in order to help you.

I have a PRO-92 and it still works, but it doesn't work for the things it used to. I can't monitor local law enforcement because they switched to digital and the '92 is an analog only scanner.

FYI, this is an old thread re: PRO-92 with no receive audio. Some good information about common issues with this unit. Unfortunately, the problem was not resolved and the OP returned the scanner to the Ebay seller.
