Not sure where to best post this question, so I'll give it a go here. If it's inappropriate, perhaps a mod can move it.

I use Sentinal software to program my SDS100. Just in the process of redoing my programming and updated the firmware and the latest database. My understanding that the databse source is actually the RR database. If this is the case, I have noticed that a trunked system (Kitchener-Waterloo City Services) in my Region (Waterloo Region) is not provided in the Sentinal main database for me to program into the SDS100.

Why would that be? Is it possible to add this system (LTR) manually to the SDS100 via Sentinal? If so, I'm welcome directions on how to do so.

Uniden feels it’s not scanable so they exclude from sentinel. You should be able to download to sds100 using @ProScan software. 30 day full demo, 50 for ownership with regular updates. Would also require a radio reference membership.

Yes, systems can be done manually in sentinel

Thaks Dave. I tried Proscan but didn't have the patience to adapt to it yet. I think I figured out how to program it via Sentinal. I know there are users for this system. Both cities of Kitchener (199.2300) and Waterloo (169.6200) roads departments use them. With winter now, this should get more active.

With so many systems moving off LTR, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this went to DMR or NXDN. LTR is pretty much a dead duck

169.320 and 169.620 are the freqs. Ltr tg's will show something like x-xx-xxx as shown in this DEC column.

DEC Mode Alpha TagDescriptionTag
1-01-053ATaxiTaxiTransportation
1-01-071ATaxiTaxiTransportation
1-02-150ATaxi (Base)Taxi (Base)Transportation
1-02-151ATaxi (Mob)Taxi (Mobiles to 1-02-150)Transportation

So if you know an agency, get those numbers for their talk group and make a submission.

Yes, those were the frequencies of their original conventional channels respectively. It isvery odd considering Kitchener Utilities and other services are on a new (2 years or so) DMR system. I'm not sure if Waterloo has been invited into or not which may be why the two roads depts are on there own system. The two cities have an agreement to plow border streets so they like to have that ability to communicate between each other.

I am also closely monitoring the DMR system as well, but have never yet heard roads on that system. Utilities and security are the core users.

A couple significant snow events and heard zero road maintenance activities on the Kitchener-Waterloo City Services LTR system they used in previous years. I suspect it's been mothballed. I have no idea where they are now. (if anywhere. I know Waterloo uses predominently cell phones for operations. Roads were the only ones using radios for hands free legality).
