unknown at this time. I see this to be a monthly meeting maybe? Ideas anyone?

I think once a month isn't too often and often enough for my schedule.

I'm game for once a month! Maybe more people will show?!

We had a great turn out tonight! About 9 in all. We had Trunker up and running for a demonstration which was nice! And a manager from Radio Shack showed up with 3 scanners....i think. The one I was interested in was the Pro 96.

I'll keep everyone advised of the next meeting. (When and Where)

If some has a Pro-95 that is program and data cable to go between two Pro-95. If they would bring the cable so i can get my pro-95 program right. (foster_006 do you know anyone that does that's coming ??

I do not know of anyone that has one. I may have one laying around here somewhere...i'll take a look.
I have never seen a 95 to 95 cable. Usually, to xfer config info one takes it from a 95 to a computer, then, computer to 95.

A simple mono audio patch cable with 1/8 inch plugs on both ends does the trick...

It was a great get-together and good to see several of the people we see posting here. I think a monthly, or semi-monthly "meeting of the minds" is a great idea, and am looking forward to building a data slicer! The only down side I see is the time of year we are starting this, the next 2 months are the big holiday months and a lot of groups I have been in lose members for a while then...

Thanks for tip! :) That was mentioned last night at the meeting too. The more I thought about it, it seems like that is spec'd out in the user manual that shipped with the radio, correct?

Thanks for getting everything organized for us foster_006! :)

Freqed: I was really glad that you were able to make the drive and I hope it was worth your while too. :)

To everyone else that is casually reading this thread, we have made plans to put on a crash course in data slicer circuit construction for the next time we get together. Myself and mam1081 a.k.a "da man with lotsa toys" will be on hand to advise and help.

More to come later. :)

Sorry I missed you guys. A customer just HAD to drop his motorcycle off here last night. Good thing though, I need the money!

I hope to make the next one as it sounds like everyone had a great time.

Yes, it was definitely worth the trip, and would be interested in a Data Slicer group Learn/Build. I too am getting really busy and the first week in December is out. Maybe the first of Thanksgiving week or the week before? :D

Can't believe the gas war going on out at FLyingJ and Loves, $1.78 compared to $1.89 everywhere else!

I'm not sure, although I think it DOES mention a cloning cable...

Hello All -
Just thought I'd drop in to say hi. I'm that manager from RadioShack & 63rd and Western who brought the scanners. I think we are a go for the backroom, but still not 100% positive on that yet. As soon as I can get the date that you guys want to meet and the stuff we will be using I can goto my boss with all the info. Great meeting and I'm game for more.

P.S. Thanks to Steve (StevePRO95) for pointing out how to fix the problem of the Pro 95 scanner locking up after being cloned from RadioShack.

Thanks again, and I look forward to the next meeting, wherever it may be.

Hi Matthew,

I'll be in OKC the first week of December, any chance you might have a Pro-96 with the latest firmware V1.3 in stock around that time?

I have the Pro-96 in stock right now. (The only store in OK that does) I'll have to check the firmware, I understand there is a problem with the 400mhz bands in some instances??? I'll do my best to have them, but no guarentees. Does anyone have anyfurther clarification on the problem with them that I have been told about? I have recieved nothing from Ft. Worth about any problems as of yet, but since they are in such tight supply I am guessing that they are aware of it and witholding stock until the problem is resolved.

Nov. 23rd? I may or may not be available.. I'm just throwing out a date. I think all we'll need from Radio Shack is the room... Crayon might be able to elaborate a little more on that.

If November and December are too busy for people, we can wait until after the holidays!

Regarding The Meetings

I was think that maybe it would be better to set up a date for every month like the 3rd tuesday of each month this way everone know and can plan around for the meeting. This is just and idea what do you guys think :?:

Through the holiday season, instead of meeting, we could probably take use of the chat feature on rr.com. I know i'll be out of town for the better part of the week through Thanksgiving.. Just a thought!

Also, I like steve's idea for meeting once a month. Say like the last Tuesday of every month?!

I second that, the last Tuesday of each month sounds like a winner. The only holidays in 05 I saw was the day after Memorial Day and the day after Halloween (should that be called Dentist's Day ?) and we can always post exceptions to the schedule here.
