Well I'm new to the site and was wondering if anyone knew of any good programs for recording scanners on the PC. I have tried Xcorder (think that is what it was called.) and back when Live 365 was free I used their Archiver. Are there any other free programs?

On one computer I use Xcorder to record my local police department's primary dispatch channel. Xcorder saves a new file every hour. So if I'm gone during the day, and I hear about something that happened earlier, I can recall the audio file for that hour and hear what happened.

On my main computer I use Rec-All Pro to record the audio from a BC-780XLT. Radio Manager 2004 saves channel data to the audio file that is created by Rec-All Pro. This way, when I play back the audio, I can see what channel was recorded (as well as time and date info).

Rec-All Pro is available from sagebrush.com.

I use Audio Record Wizard - http://www.nowsmart.com/arwizard/. The price is $24.95 and well worth it. Records in wav, mp3 formats - several settings including voice activation (VOX), auto file naming, and more - free download for 3 minute max recording - purchasing/registering software opens up full capability.
