Scanning Providence Fire

I have a BC 796D. Is there anything special I need to do to it before I try to load the frequencies and Talk groups? For instance to Program the Ct State Police, I had to reband the bank I was using and change a few setting. like the band plan and system. Thanks, Kevin

The system is a P25 system, not a Mot system. (Yes, I know , it is a Motorola system, but for the scanner settings). It has rebanded and the frequencies in the database are accurate. But you do not need to put in a rebanded trunk table for a P25 system. Connecticut is a Motorola 800 system using P25 audio.
Rhode Island is a true P25 system.

Thanks Mike, just a few more questions if you don't mind. I am going to guess control channel on, but what plan 1,2,3,4 or off?

There is no channel plan with P25. So by default leave it off.
