Scanning question

I was wondering how do the independent news stringer guys have their scanners for the best interesting police/fire activity stuff you don't want to miss and not miss anything I know about the more than one scanner thing though I will make an example below,

For fire,
Dispatch
tacs
command
fire air

For police and SDSO,
Dispatch 1 channels
tacs
law air

Basically we separate as many "types" of RX channels we can determined by how many scanners we can shove/afford into our vehicles or hands.

North/South/cops/fire/disp/tacs.....every person does it different.
