Trying to program/scan a DMR system, LCNs unknown using an SDS100E with latest firmware. (also tried FW 1.22).

I have tried programming the system with 2 variations and neither produce any voice unless its a private call, a DJ-X100 is decoding voice fine, the SDS100 will decode the frequencies in search mode.

1.MotoTRBO, dummy department tgid 1, 1 site with 11 frequencies.

2.DMR One Frequency, dummy department tgid 1, 1 site with 11 frequencies.

ID Search is on, Colour Code search is on.

Why not run LCN finder to determine the correct LCNs?
MENU > ANALYZE (E) > LCN FINDER (E)
Select system & site
and let LCN finder determine correct LCNs: Easier to Read SDS100/200 Digital Scanner Manual

This won't work if system is MotoTRBO trunked
I can run it for systems in range but I have many systems that are out of range which I want to scan as I drive into those areas.

Is it not possible to scan a DMR system without the LCNs?

Not by any means. But if you want to properly track the system it's best to enter them
I'm not concerned about full tracking but I am getting no decode at all from any talkgroup at all, only private calls decode, is this a programming error or limitation of the SDS itself?

Not seeing anything obvious in the file. So yeah, determine then set the correct LCNs and Color Code(s), you have the latter set to "search" then report back if anything changes

I read the post, that sounds like its saying that Uniden scanners are of no use without knowing the LCNs then, is that correct?
Yes. Program all frequencies in one site as a DMR One Frequency system type, you can have as many frequencies as you want but exclude the control channels, and it will be possible to monitor a TG call as long as it stays on the same voice channel.

Programmed as DMR One it rotates around the frequencies, it will even pause on one with active voice but doesn't decode it.

tg 1 is valid and works fine. Many in the forums use it.

I have a dummy tg of 0 in Sentinel. Where do you get that error?

I just tried again and it let me enter 0 now so I don't know why I got the invalid error.

I shall experiment further.

I would think so. Pretty sure you need the department the tg's are in to be enabled for scanning if you using location control.
