Okay. What you said, is what i thought was suppose to happen. It isn't. I have hold on System (SLC PS AC33), site hold (Site-1), the Channel display is showing "ID Searching", but it only stops on programmed Channels. I deleted the two busiest channels on the system (704 & 736). I see them on Unitrunker and hear them on a different scanner (TRX2), but silence on the SDS100.
This is the third issue/problem on three different system, I've found while using this radio. Maybe it is time for a Master Reset.
I do thank-you for your assistance. It is helping me to understand.
EDIT- Okay, deleting User Data now. Gonna start from the beginning, see what happens. Fortunately, other than a few spelling alterations, I didn't changed much from the downloaded database.
Also realize if u are using full database, like the 436/536 it is forced to ID scan only u cannot change it to ID search, or add anything to the full database part of the scanner, hence the favorites, on favorites ID search opens it up to find any talkgroup talking on that site, u must add those in to let them be scanned on ID scan, or just keep ID search on.. I haven’t been to the valley since I got my SDS100 or 200, but I usually take as many scanners as I can to compensate the amount of radio traffic up there

I’m not sure if special programming is needed or if the rebanding may not be implemented on the scanner for the ac33 system or something else is going on, I know with one of the type 1 Motorola systems , fleet stuff had to be programmed, the 436/ 536 and my HP 1 at the time did ac33 very well as the bcd396xt did great for that system as well

My TRX's work great around here, as well. Unfortunately I borrowed them out to family, so I am learning how to use the SDS100. With much difficulty. When scanning a trunk system (AC33), site hold (Site-1), and "ID Searching" is displayed,,, is the unit searching only that part of the Favorites List for that system, or is it using the National database? I had deleted an active Channel from the favorites list, and it would not show up under search.

"ID Searching" is looking for new talk groups. You want it to say "ID Scan" and that will only scan what's in the favorite list.
Hit FN and E and it will say "ID Search: Off or On". Off will make it search your fave list, on will search through the 65535 possible tgids

It claims it is searching, but it is not finding anything new. I removed several active talk groups from the fave list (704 & 1184), activated search, and those TG's are not seen/heard. It does work when searching some sites, in the UCA (7202) system. I can't find out if the SLCo PW (420F) system will search. Today is the alternate control freq day, and the SD100 does not work that freq. I'll try tomorrow.

I don't know to much about the sds as I'm learning myself but, it's possible when it's searching, they aren't using it to be stopped on. I don't mess with the setings to much because I don't know them all yet. I haven't had any issues searching my p2 system though.

I think I just found my missing talk groups. The radio has created a new Dept, labeled "Unknown" in the SLC PS AC33 system. It is displaying new/found TG's in that dept. They are not stored or saved, unless I take multi-step action. Fairly cumbersome method of finding new talk groups/channels,,,, but okay. If that is what it takes.

Anyone monitoring the Salt Lake County Public Works system (420F) with the 100 or 200? I am having problems. Is it me or the radio?

My radio (SDS100) will not decode/track the system when the control channel is 857.7125. When the control channel is 858.7125, the radio has distorted audio on 856.7125. Strange symptoms. I'm trying to verify if it is my radio, or,,,,something else.

It's not so strange in a SDS scanner. It can get interfered from frequencies several MHz away. That's why Uniden had to add the filter option to select different kind of filters to find one that will reduce the interference from one frequency but it will also make it more sensitive for interferenceis from other frequencies. You will need to try all filters to find one that will work the best for that site. It will probably be a different setting for another site.

If the filters doesn't help then try to set IFX to the frequency that have problems and try all the filter settings again. The filters and IFX are location dependent so one users setting might not work for another user.

It took s lot of doing and experimenting, but I was finally able to figure out the correct sequence to activate the IFX. no change. I'll try the filters next.

Tried the filter setting. IT WORKS!!!! Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, very much. I went thru the list, and "Invert" seems to be working. IT even took care of the 856.7125 issue I was having. Nice to be able the hear all the conversations, for a change. Thank-you for the advise. Not having a manual, makes it difficult for me. But, old dog, new tricks.

I hear ya. I definitely learn things easier by “doing” rather than reading about it.
Like you said, that link has helped me a lot in e past as well.

I'm old school (old dog) and prefer a manual in my hands that I can use.

I should still have the Original SDS 100 Manual .... You're more than welcome to it. I'd be happy to mail it to you.
