Ethernet port on the FRONT???
No integrated GPS???
No WiFi??
No Bluetooth??
For such an advanced scanner it sure is stuck in the stone ages.
Todays vehicles are offering less and less room, WHY wouldn't there be integrated GPS? I just can't wrap my head around that.

An integrated GPS would raise the overall cost of the scanner. I have no intention of using this scanner in my vehicle, so a GPS is unnecessary. People that want GPS can pay extra for it rather than everyone paying for it that may not need it. Makes sense to me.

Personally, I absolutely agree with your sentiment.

Still couldn’t help myself, though, and have already placed my order =

I looked at the Scanner Master page for information about the GPS puck, and I don't see any option for ordering it. Does it have to be ordered directly from Uniden? Is it an accessory which is not yet available? Because it already is included with the Bear Tracker 885 (and has the same type of connection to the scanner), I was thinking that maybe it is the same situation with the SDS200. Upman, can you clarify?

I’m sure it’s the same Uniden GPS puck that works with the x36 series. It also works with the SDS100 but you have to use a different cable.

It is a different accessory. We'll have them on our site, soon. We are currently out of stock, but expect some in this month.

What's the RJ11 jack for?

You must connect the SDS200 to your land line/Uniden Port Police who upon detecting any front port not in use during operation, will erase your programming and replace with 90's pager freqs or encrypted public safety comms. Paul's discretion.

Disclaimer: that's a lie. Front port use not mandatory.

But you are already paying over 700 with add on's , why should the customer have to pay even more.

Just buy a 536, I've seen some deals recently. No reason to buy a 200 unless you have to have the greatest color screen bling. Plus you won't have to look at that annoying blinking LAN light, sorry but that is awful.

Great idea unless you have simulcast issues the 536hp can't handle.

Wow $700 range and yet your competitors still out beat you with remote head capability. When is Uniden going to produce a device that can have a detached head piece for remote operations. I am also surprised with the no mention of wifi. Nice device but could have done a better job. I'll stick with my Whistler to my mobile iwth the remote head.

Overall it does look and described as bad-ass besides the above mentions ^^.

Another great idea/option would be to calm down and take a breath, and see what else comes down the pipe soon. It will be a great time to buy a radio when a competitor radio comes out in the near future to be able to make a choice based on what best fits the user vs making concessions, either way.

So the GPS puck is a separate purchase item. Unfortunate, but not outrageous.

That can be remedied with a tiny piece of back electrical tape over it.
Perhaps it will come with a plastic plug that will also cover the lights?
